iPad Pro M5 Set to Impress: Leaked Benchmarks Hint at Major Performance Upgrade

October 9, 2025

iPad Pro M5 tipped for a big performance boost — and these leaked benchmarks seemingly confirm it

Geekbench 6 reveals 12GB RAM and enhanced processor in latest tests

With a series of detailed leaks surfacing recently, it appears increasingly likely that the upcoming iPad Pro M5 will boast significant upgrades, including the new M5 processor and a minimum of 12GB of RAM. Recent Geekbench 6 benchmark results seem to support these anticipated updates.

The data from the benchmark site indicates the new iPad model features 11.2GB of usable memory and a storage capacity of 256GB, a step up from the previous version’s 8GB of RAM. Additionally, this model includes a 9-core CPU achieving a clock speed of 4.42 GHz. These specifications mirror those of the 256GB and 512GB models of the previous iPad Pro M4, although performance tests indicate notable enhancements.

In single-core tests, the device scored 4,133, marking an 11.7% improvement over the iPad Pro M4’s score of 3,700. Multi-core tests yielded a result of 15,437, which is a 6.2% increase from the M4’s score of 14,523.

While specific details about other iPad Pro M5 models remain unknown, it is reasonable to assume that the 1TB and 2TB versions will also see performance enhancements. Last year’s equivalent models were equipped with 16GB of RAM and an extra performance core in their CPUs. It is expected that the new M5 models will feature similar upgrades.

It remains to be seen whether these models will have increased memory or improved processors, but improved performance is anticipated for both.

Unfortunately, the status of the rumored second front camera lens remains uncertain. Recent unboxing videos have not revealed a second lens, and Bloomberg’s tech reporter Mark Gurman has suggested that this feature might have been removed at the last minute.

Gurman stated with confidence that prototypes of the M5 iPad Pros at Apple included the second lens. He also mentioned that Apple is known for its late-stage feature cancellations, recalling instances with older iPad models that had different storage options and a second dock connector that never made it to production.

However, Gurman does not believe that the removal of a second camera would be an unusual last-minute decision.

The official launch of the iPad Pro M5 could occur soon, potentially later this month.
