Galaxy A36

The Galaxy A37 recently made its debut on Geekbench, revealing some key specifications in the process. We now know which processor will power this mid-range smartphone, as well as the performance improvements it offers over its predecessor.

In our review of the Galaxy A36, which was released earlier this year, we appreciated the smartphone’s well-balanced design, which managed to strike a reasonable balance between affordability and decent performance. However, we noted that the processor had some limitations, which were necessary to keep the price low.

Therefore, there is considerable anticipation regarding the successor’s performance capabilities. Fortunately, this new model has just disclosed the CPU that Samsung has selected for it. We were already aware that Samsung planned to introduce a Galaxy A37 — though this wasn’t exactly a revelation — thanks to a recently published list of upcoming smartphones for 2026. Today, the device appeared on Geekbench, giving us more details about its technical specifications.

Discover the Processor Samsung Chose for the Galaxy A37

The Galaxy A37, known by its model code SM-A376B, will be powered by the Exynos 1480 chip. To recall, its predecessor was equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. So how does Samsung’s chip stack up against its competitor? Well, the news is somewhat positive: it performs slightly better. Indeed, the Galaxy A37 scored 1158 points in single-core and 3401 points in multi-core tests.

For comparison, the Galaxy A35 scored 1007 points and 2917 points respectively in these tests. Therefore, users can expect a modest performance boost, which is always welcome in smartphones of this category. Additionally, the benchmark reveals that the smartphone was running Android 16 and had 6 GB of RAM. However, we expect that there will be multiple versions available upon its release.

Given that the Galaxy A36 was launched in March of this year, it is highly likely that its successor will also hit the market around the same time in 2026.
