ChatGPT peut transcrire les réunions et se connecter à Google Drive, Outlook, GitHub…

OpenAI has introduced new tools for professionals, including connectors for your data storage services to facilitate analysis.

OpenAI has expanded the capabilities of ChatGPT for professional use. The company based in California has unveiled connectors for several cloud storage services. This will allow AI to access your data sets to search for information to answer your questions. Additionally, the ChatGPT app for macOS now includes a feature for recording and transcribing meetings. Is a global rollout next?

Connectors to Grant ChatGPT Access to Your Internal Resources

With the launch of the Connectors feature, OpenAI aims to provide ChatGPT access to your chosen data and internal resources, stored across various cloud or messaging services. The goal is to enable the AI to directly analyze your resources, reducing the need for contextual explanations, while leveraging relevant and actionable data. Thus, ChatGPT can utilize these resources to conduct searches and analyses in order to respond more effectively to your inquiries.

Make ChatGPT more useful and personalized by tapping into your own data sources or corporate knowledge, now accessible on demand.

Currently in the experimental phase and not yet deployed in Europe, the connectors come in two main tools:

  • In ChatGPT: “users can now activate connectors to integrate their internal tools and content into ChatGPT”, OpenAI explains. Supported services include Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, and Box. Access is in real time with source citation, while administrators can configure different rights. Connectors in ChatGPT are available for Team, Enterprise, and Edu accounts.
  • In Deep Research: “use connectors in Deep Research to generate long, sourced answers that incorporate your company’s internal tools”, OpenAI introduces. In deep research, it is possible to connect the following tools: Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Box, Outlook, Gmail, Google Calendar, Linear, GitHub, HubSpot, and Teams. It is feasible to combine internal and web-derived sources to produce syntheses. The feature is available for Team, Enterprise, and Edu accounts.

OpenAI also offers a connector synced with Google Drive, “which pre-indexes the content of your organization’s Drive, allowing for quick, high-quality contextual responses”, capable of performing semantic searches in Docs, Slides, Sheets “and more”, for Team, Enterprise, and Edu subscribers. Finally, using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), administrators can build and deploy custom connectors within Deep Research.

ChatGPT Moves Towards Meeting Recording and Transcription

Another innovation announced by OpenAI is the ability to record, summarize, and transcribe meetings, or any other type of voice notes, directly from ChatGPT. This feature is particularly useful as AI-assisted transcription services are increasingly sought after and becoming more efficient. Users will simply need to press a Record button and ChatGPT will transcribe the audio live, generate a summary, and offer editable notes, with 120 minutes of recording per session. Furthermore, the recorded data can be integrated into ChatGPT’s memory for it to refer to in future queries.

With the recording mode, ChatGPT transforms meetings, brainstorming sessions, or voice notes into organized knowledge that it can act upon and recall as needed to provide relevant context to a conversation.

However, there is still a catch. Indeed, the feature called Record Mode is currently available to only a very small number of users. At the moment, it is only available within the macOS app, and solely for Team plan subscribers. The Record Mode will soon be extended to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu subscribers. Will it soon be available on other ChatGPT applications?
