Following its activation for Android devices, Free has now enabled 5G+ for its customers using iPhones. This service upgrade applies to all models starting from the iPhone 15, provided the users have a Free subscription plan that includes 5G.
Steps to Activate 5G+ on iPhone
Free has outlined the following steps for users to activate the enhanced 5G+ capability:
- Ensure that your smartphone is compatible and that you are within an area covered by the 5G 3.5 GHz network;
- Update to the latest software version (an operator profile update should be available);
- Enable the 5G+ option in your Subscriber Area under the “My Options” section;
- Restart your phone or toggle Airplane Mode on and off to implement the new settings.
For iPhone users, the process involves navigating to iOS Settings, then Cellular Data, followed by Options, and under Voice & Data, selecting 5G Auto. Additionally, activate the 5G SA and Voice on 5G Standalone options.

The 5G+ service exclusively utilizes 5G infrastructure and not the 4G network core, which should result in increased speeds and reduced latency.
