The Samsung 55QN70F is a 55-inch 4K television that utilizes Neo QLED technology and Mini-LED backlighting. This series is also available in 65, 75, and 85 inches. This new model capitalizes on Samsung’s expertise to offer high image quality enhanced by the artificial intelligence of the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, which optimizes content in real time, adjusting contrast, sharpness, and color reproduction on the fly.
Its Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 pixel screen benefits from a highly precise panel, capable of delivering a native frequency of 100 Hz which can go up to 144 Hz thanks to the Motion Xcelerator, theoretically providing exemplary fluidity in video gaming.
The control of Mini LED backlighting aims to achieve excellent precision in contrasts and lighting, with Supreme UHD Dimming and Auto HDR Remastering. The device supports HDR10+ and HLG formats (still no Dolby Vision), suitable for both streaming and Blu-ray. In terms of ergonomics for video games, the 55QN70F inherits the complete Gaming Hub, Mini Map Zoom, and a dedicated gaming bar, making it easier to navigate between platforms and accessories.
As part of the Neo QLED 2025 range, the Samsung 55QN70F competes with LG QNED86, Sony Bravia 5, TCL C69K, Hisense U7Q, and Philips PUS8909, all of which are equipped with Mini LED backlighting. This series is positioned slightly below the QN80F (or similar) and QN90F models from the South Korean brand.

Samsung 55QN70FDesign and Connectivity, Central Stand
Aesthetically, the Samsung 55QN70F offers a simple and rather refined design that does not try to overdo it. Its slim chassis of 30 mm in thickness shows a certain elegance and discretion, ready to integrate into any living room, whether modern or more classic.
The black frame is perfectly uniform. The central stand (25 x 26 cm) dubbed Aero Center is discreet, compact, and allows the TV to be installed on less deep furniture while ensuring perfect stability. Essentially, it consists of two elements to be clipped at the back (no screws necessary). Then, a plastic plate is installed from the front to finalize the support. Note the possibility to place cables in guides but there is no element to keep them in place.
Count on a clearance of only 4 cm between the stand and the bottom of the television. Note that Samsung places the infrared reception module on the left side.
In terms of build quality: no play in the stand, no weakness in the selected materials. The edges remain thin, offering an immersive viewing experience, and the VESA 200×200 compatibility promises easy wall mounting.
It is also worth mentioning a design thought for durability, with a repairability index of 8.2 and a durability index of 8.4. Samsung promises the availability of spare parts for seven years, and a ten-year anti-burn-in warranty for the integrity of the panel.
In terms of connectivity, this TV offers a comprehensive and thoughtful selection for versatile use. There are four HDMI 2.1 ports fully compatible with 4K at 144 Hz, for optimal connection with the latest generation consoles (taking care to “open” the ports from the TV settings), media players, and gaming PCs. Also included are two USB-A ports, an Ethernet LAN port, an optical audio output, and inputs for DTT, cable, and satellite antennas.
One of the HDMI ports is eARC compatible, ensuring optimal use of external soundbars, particularly to enjoy Samsung’s Q-Symphony system. In practice, watching a movie or playing without worrying about bandwidth or audio format is possible, especially since synchronization is smoothly performed.
The wireless connectivity relies on Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3, allowing not only the pairing of two devices simultaneously but also bidirectional mirroring with the smartphone. These features multiply the possibilities for sharing or streaming live from mobile platforms.
The Remote Control
The remote control provided with the Samsung 55QN70F is identical to those of the high-end models offering simplicity and ergonomics. The compact size benefits from a matte texture that is pleasant to the touch and limits fingerprints. The buttons are spaced, clearly identified for intuitive navigation in the dark. Quick multimedia selection via Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Samsung TV Plus is assured, as is direct access to voice assistants.
The grip is immediate and facilitated by a lightweight. The tactile feedback from the buttons is distinct, avoiding accidental presses. Samsung has integrated a microphone for voice control, which can be easily activated in the presence of Bixby or Alexa.
Energy saving is also present, with intelligent management of standby mode as well as a power supply by rechargeable battery and maintenance via a small solar panel on the back. Bluetooth pairing is instantaneous and flawless.
Rated 9/10 by the Frandroid editorial team, the TCL C89K TV is “a reliable choice for those seeking a versatile, high-performing, and durable Mini LED TV.” For Black Friday, the 65-inch version of the C89K enjoys a 200 € discount.
Samsung 55QN70FImage and Sound, Consistent Brightness but Cavernous Sound
The Samsung 55QN70F features a 4K Neo QLED Mini LED panel, enriched by the Supreme UHD Dimming treatment and AI upscaling.
The support of HDR10+ and HLG formats allows for detailed images, from movie scenes streamed on Netflix, Disney+, or on Blu-ray, to the most dynamic gaming sequences. Samsung still does not support the HDR Dolby Vision format, which some may find disappointing.
The Neo QLED technology offers fairly good control of the backlight zones, reducing blooming and enhancing the sharpness of blacks, even in a bright room, and even if you move away from the central viewing position.
Action sequences remain readable and fluid, color reproduction is balanced: the Color Booster Pro enhances vibrancy without excessive saturation. The NQ4 AI Gen2 processor applies effective upscaling on all content, from DVDs to HD streaming videos.
The image modes available are: Standard, Dynamic, Cinema, Game, and Filmmaker, each mode adjusting color temperatures, sharpness, and contrast dynamics to the nature of the program being watched. In Filmmaker mode, the color palette faithfully follows the intentions of the filmmakers, while the Game mode refines motion blur management for fast-paced games.
In use, watching HDR content is very enjoyable, the device benefiting from suitable brightness and notable efficiency in managing high lights and details in dark areas. On Disney+ and Netflix, native Ultra HD content is well served by good sharpness and a certain immersion.
Despite the edge-lit backlighting technology, light control is quite precise, preventing any saturation or loss of detail. Finally, note that we did not observe any posterization effects.
The TV was tested with several probes to measure color fidelity, maximum brightness, and other criteria that may be interesting for you to form your own opinion. Thus, we recorded a color fidelity lower than the threshold below which the human eye can no longer distinguish between the requested color and the displayed color. Indeed, the average Delta E is 2.88 with Filmmaker mode activated.
In addition, the average color temperature is very satisfactory, measured at 6308 K for an ideal value of 6500 K. The average gamma was recorded at 2.49, while the ideal value, in darkness, is 2.4, which shows that the TV manages to handle different scenes well except perhaps for the brightest areas where the device tends to darken very slightly compared to the ideal content. However, we did not note any disqualifying measurements for this model.
With HDR content, here too, it is the Filmmaker mode that allows obtaining the best rendering for watching movies or series with the director’s intentions. Thus, we were able to measure a peak brightness of 817 cd/m², which is consistent with other ranges.
For comparison, we had measured the Samsung Q70D (previous series) at 618 cd/m². Concretely, this means that it struggles a bit to fight against ambient light especially if it is significant in the room. The management of Tone Mapping is particularly remarkable on this model.
In addition, the targets of different sizes allow us to highlight a measurement of 587 cd/m² at 100%, which is quite correct.
Finally, the color spaces are rather well covered with a value of 99.5% for the rec709, 94.69% for the DCI-P3, and 75.72% for the BT2020, i.e. coherent measurements therefore logically lower than those we record for more high-end models.
The sound aspect of the Samsung 55QN70F is provided by a 2-channel OTS Lite system delivering 20 W, accompanied by Q-Symphony compatibility and Adaptive Sound Pro and Active Voice Amplifier Pro technologies. The sound rendering offers good dialogue reproduction, particularly in family use, benefiting from clear voices that stand out above ambient sounds and background noise. However, the system struggles to produce bass, and thus to offer immersion in the scene.
Good news, the TV is compatible with the Q-Symphony system which allows synchronizing the internal speakers with a Samsung soundbar, creating an immersive effect without lag between the image and the sound. The Adaptive Sound Pro adjusts the sound profile to the content: music, movie, sport, game, ensuring that every detail is taken into account.
Samsung 55QN70FGaming, a Good Ally
Designed for gaming enthusiasts, this Neo QLED TV features a panel capable of reaching 144 Hz, ensuring remarkable fluidity and responsiveness in fast-paced games. The integration of the Gaming Hub, compatible with cloud gaming and consoles, facilitates instant access to major titles.
Compatibility with FreeSync Premium Pro and VRR technologies ensures the elimination of tearing, even in the most demanding sequences, and the ALLM mode automatically switches the TV to low latency mode as soon as a game is launched. Note an input lag (display delay) of only 13.2 ms, which represents less than one frame between the moment the player presses the button on the controller and when the action takes place on the screen. This is very good.
With its complete panel of HDMI 2.1 ports, the 55QN70F accommodates PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or gaming PCs without compromise, all in 4K at 144 Hz. It is thus possible to fully exploit the power of each machine without bottleneck or visual parasites.
The interface also offers Mini Map Zoom and an integrated game bar, useful for optimizing FPS or competitive gaming sessions. If you want perfect color fidelity, set the TV to Original Game mode (average Delta E of only 1.83). Otherwise, the colors are saturated.
In use, the responsiveness is exemplary: the commands are instantaneous, never a perceptible trail. Dynamic management of light and contrast helps to better spot enemies in the shadows or to enjoy the lighting effects of the scenery.
