Apple Acquires Assets from Rabbit 3 Times
According to a legal statement recently published by the European Commission and spotted by MacRumors, Apple has purchased certain assets from the company Rabbit 3 Times and has offered positions to some of its employees. Rabbit 3 Times was known for developing an app named Play, which allowed users to create app prototypes using SwiftUI frameworks before importing them into Xcode. The app had previously won an Apple Design Award for Innovation at the WWDC 2025.
Disappearance of the Play App
Following the acquisition, which occurred in February, the Play app was removed from the App Store. As is typical, Apple has not publicly commented on the acquisition. However, it is likely that the company aims to incorporate similar functionalities into Xcode while also integrating engineers from Rabbit 3 Times into their team.
