According to a new report published by Taipei Times, Apple will retain the 8-megapixel rear camera sensor in the next iPhone.

The publication quotes Taipei-based analyst Jeff Pu who suggests that Largan Precision Co, a major smartphone camera lens supplier to Apple Inc. will “face limited earnings” due to slow transition to higher-resolution lenses.

Pu said that the camera specifications of the next-generation iPhone, dubbed iPhone 6S, will stay the same as the current iPhone 6 at 8-megapixels, limiting potential catalysts to push Largan’s stock price higher in the second half of the year.

The report published by Taipei Times contradicts Daring Fireball’s John Gruber belief that Apple may be working on major camera improvements for the next iPhone.

Apple has been following a pattern when it comes to launching new iPhone each year. The company introduces an all-new design one year and then follows up with the same design but with new processor and camera enhancements.

Most companies have launched new phones with more megapixels each year whereas Apple has retained the 8 megapixel camera since the iPhone 4s but, improved the sensor and added new technologies to allow users to take better photos.

Apple leads the list of most popular cameras on Flickr and to retain that spot the company would need to continue making the iPhone camera better each year. It will be interesting to see if Apple features a higher megapixel camera in the new iPhone. The new iPhones are likely to be unveiled sometime near September this year.

Both ads are similar to the ones Apple aired when introducing the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. The ads have been voiced over by Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake.

The new TV ads highlight iOS 8 continuity feature and Apple’s A8 chip that enhances gaming on the new phones. In “Reservations” the ad shows how users can use any iOS 8 device to make a call. iPad and Macs connect to the iPhone over bluetooth and function as a speakerphone for the iPhone giving users the freedom to accept and reject calls from any Apple device that offers the continuity feature.

The ad titled “Gamers” shows off the graphics capabilities of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. The ad feature the game Vainglory by Super Evil Megacorp that takes advantage of the high performance the new chip and Metal API offers.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus have proved to be the biggest launch success for Apple and the company is still catching up with the demand worldwide. The bugger screen phone has been more successful in the Asian market when compared to the US and the UK.

While Apple continues to advertise the features of its new phones its competitors Samsung and Microsoft are focusing on comparing their offering with Apple’s latest devices.

This is a brand new record for Apple Inc. (AAPL). The company in an official statement said that the initial demand has far exceeded the supply available and many customers who ordered their phone will receive it in the first week of October.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus according to Apple is the biggest update to the iPhone since the original. Both phones feature larger display with Retina HD technology, new processors, NFC chip, better camera sensors and barometer.

The new phones will go on sale for walk-in customers on September 19 and will be available at Apple retail stores, network partners and authorised resellers.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said, “iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do.” He further added, “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”

In addition to the United States, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus will also be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK this Friday.

To put the pre-order figures of iPhone 6 in perspective, iPhone 5 pre-orders topped two million in first 24 hours in 2012 and the first weekend sales crossed five million devices. Apple did not release pre-order figures for iPhone 5S, however it did reveal that the first weekend sales figures topped 9 million devices and included China too.

This year iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus just like iPhone 5 will arrive a bit late in China due to delayed regulatory approvals. So, iPhone 6 pre-orders at 4 million in just 24 hours is certainly a very impressive record for Apple.

With its bigger screen phones, Apple Pay and the upcoming Apple Watch, the company is all set to break previous records and gain a lot of lost ground from Samsung. On September 26 the new phones from Apple will go on sale in 20 additional countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.

A quick look at Apple’s online store reveals that iPhone 6 Plus in 128GB and 64GB variations has been extremely popular as the availability has pushed to more than 3 weeks, the 16GB variation shows availability as 7-10 days. While iPhone 6 is still in stock as all variations show delivery date as September 19.

It’s clear that there was pent-up demand for a large screen iPhone. With iPhone 6 plus launch Apple is all set to take the market by storm. iPhone 6 plus features 5.5inch Retina HD display , second generation 64-bit chip, improved camera sensor, NFC chip and more. iPhone 6 features nearly the same features as iPhone 6 plus except the display size which is 4.7 inch and doesn’t feature optical image stabilisation.

The new iPhones will be available in retail stores on September 19. Eager customers began queuing outside the stores much before the phone was announced. Apple may face shortage of stock to meet the release day demand. This has become a trend of sorts with all major product launches from Apple in the recent past.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, didn’t hesitate to comment that iPhone 6 will be mother of all upgrades. Publications that have published early impressions seem to be highly positive about the new phones.

With both new phones featuring larger displays there is something new to experience for everyone. Apple Pay could also play a major factor in bringing in new customers as Apple plans to revolutionise mobile payments. Apple claims that Apple Pay will be easy, fast and secure. The service demo shown during the event involved bringing the phone near the NFC device and simply touching the Touch ID to authenticate payment. The company claims that it will not store any data on its server and will use token system to completely randomise every transaction without storing any sensitive information.

Bigger display, NFC, better camera, faster processor and thinner design that’s exactly what people wanted and Apple has delivered.

The website earlier showed availability as September 26 but now has been updated to show the correct release date for customers in India.

Just a few hours ago Apple wrapped up its special media event. As expected the company announced two new iPhones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. The new phones will launch in India on September 26 October 17 according to Apple India website.

iPhone 6 features a 4.7 inch retina HD 1334-by-750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi while iPhone 6 plus features 5.5 inch retina HD 1920-by-1080-pixel resolution at 401 ppi. Both phones run on Apple’s second generation 64-bit chip called A8 and include new M8 co-processor for motion tracking. The new A8 and M8 chips are smaller and more power efficient. The new phones will see a performance boost of up-to 50% and up-to 84% faster GPU performance.

Apple has also include a barometer to measure flight based activities like climbing stairs to be included as a physical activity in the health tracking apps.

The camera is still 8 megapixels with 1.5µ pixels, however Apple claims that the new camera sensors and the technology has been enhanced to take much better photos. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus include autofocus with focus pixels, ƒ/2.2 aperture, improved face detection, panorama (up to 43 megapixels) and more. iPhone 6 plus exclusively gains optical image stabilisation technology to avoid the shaky videos and photos with motion blur.

iPhone 6 India launch price

Both phones now also include NFC for Apple Pay service. Unlike other payment services Apple Pay does not store sensitive information rather it allots a unique id and generates dynamic security code while using TouchID authentication for payment transactions.

The new iPhones will be available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variations. This year Apple has chosen to discontinue the 32GB variant. The pricing of iPhone 6 in the U.S. is $199, $299, $399 for 16GB, 64GB and 128GB respectively. While iPhone 6 plus is priced priced $100 more for each storage tier.

This will the first time that Apple’s iPhone will be available in India in less than a month since its announcement.

Apple also announced the all-new Apple Watch which is expected to launch in 2015. Apple Watch will be available in three variants. The Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch Edition. The pricing will begin at $349 for the low-end model.

The company is preparing to release two new iPhones – 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screen size. Both models are expected to be same in terms of hardware and software features; the only difference being the display and battery size.

The report was published by French website iGen.fr which suggests that both models will be released on the same date. This is contrary to previous reports which suggested that the 5.5 inch model would be made available after the 4.7 inch model release date. However, the report does note that the 5.5 inch model could be available in very limited supply as Apple has been experiencing some production delays related to the bigger form factor of “iPhone 6 plus”. The French publication does have a good record of accurately predicting Apple product launches.

September 19 launch date for both the phones seems plausible and goes well with the release cycle of previous iPhones. Apple typically hosts the unveiling event on Tuesday and the device hits the market the following week on a Friday, giving enough time to tech publications for publishing their in-depth reviews of the new device.

Apple will announce the pricing of the new models during the keynote event today; according to various reports the iPhone 6 plus is expected to be priced $100 more in each storage capacity while iPhone 6 will be priced same as current gen iPhone 5S.

Apple’s iPhone 6 keynote event will be live in about two and a half hours from now. The company is widely rumoured to enter into a new product category with the iWatch. The new smart watch from Apple could propel the company in pushing new boundaries in the wearable space.

However, this year the “tradition” seems to be reaching new heights as the iPhone 6 is expected to be available on September 19th so the people waiting outside will be there for at-least two weeks.

The campers often have an ‘agenda’ which is either to gain fame, promote their products or earn some money in exchange of the first spot in the line. Apple has been known to be extremely supportive of its customers lining outside the retail stores by offering food and coffee for free. Other companies are also eager to join the bandwagon by sponsoring the campers with their products of course.

Rob Shoesmith iPhone 4S camper

Rob Shoesmith camped outside Apple’s retail store for 10 days in anticipation of iPhone 4S which got him a lot of media attention and sponsors. This year Jason and Moon Ray got the first spot after paying $2500 to Brian Ceballo and Joseph Cruz of BuyBackWorld. Jason and Moon Ray are promoting a health app called VideoMedicine which can used to videoconference with doctors.

This year Apple is widely expected to announce 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screen iPhones. The next iPhone is rumoured to feature sapphire crystal display, improved camera sensor, new biometric sensors, improved battery performance and NFC chip. Analysts report suggest that Apple will finally enter the mobile payment segment with NFC enabled iPhone by partnering with American Express, Visa and MasterCard.

iPhone 6 / iPhone Air is also expected to be available in 128GB capacity in addition to 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. The pricing of these models is unknown however, it is estimated that 5.5 inch model will cost $100 more that the current price points.

Apart from iPhone announcement the company is also rumoured to enter wearable product category. Apple CEO Tim Cook has commented on wearable technology in the past and has noted that the wrist continues to be an area of interest. In the recent past the company has made notable hires from Nike which further fuel the rumours about an iWatch.

All rumours will be put to rest on September 09, 2014 when Apple kicks starts its special iPhone keynote event. Are you excited about the new iPhone 6? Do you think Apple will unveil an iWatch during the event? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

The keynote events have become increasingly predictive since the iPhone 4 debacle. iPhone 6 / iPhone Air is expected to be announced at a special keynote event on September 9th. From the design to tech specs the rumour mill seems to have access to all the details with quite convincing proofs to prove their credibility.

If the recent part leaks of the upcoming iPhone 6 weren’t enough a new HD video published by Russia-based YouTuber Rozetked, shows the parts of alleged new iPhone completely assembled. The assembled parts are claimed to be of iPhone Air / iPhone 6 which is rumoured to be 4.7 inch in size. This year Apple is expected to release two new iPhones with 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screens sizes.

According to the reports published by various news outlets, iPhone 6 will feature sapphire crystal display, NFC chip, improved camera sensors, longer battery life and new sensors. There has been a lot of debate concerning the cost of the new iPhones as the sapphire crystal displays are costly and very hard to produce. It is possible that 4.7 inch screen size may be available at existing price points however a 5.5 inch screen iPhone could be priced $100 more.

new iPhone 6 Apple will be holding the iPhone event at  Flint Center for the Performing Arts which is much bigger than the venues Apple typically selects for new product announcements. It is interesting to note that the company is also building a three-storey structure at the event venue. There have been a few reports about Apple introducing a new wearable product during the event, it is unclear if the new structure is being built to showcase some specific functionality of the wearable product. If rumours are to be believed then the new iWatch(?) will only be demoed at the event, its availability is scheduled for early next year. Steve Jobs introduced the original Macintosh at the same venue almost 30 years ago.

Even though there have been many part leaks and we may have already seen the iPhone 6 which will be announced in 6 days from now it’s possible that a few surprise await us. Are you excited about the event? What are your expectations from the event? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Earlier today Apple sent out media invites for a special event scheduled for September 9th. The invite has Apple logo with the date 9.9.2014 and text that reads “Wish we could say more”. The event is most likely to announce the new iPhone 6.

Various news outlets had published the news about the rumoured event date and today Apple has finally confirmed the date. Unlike previous years this time Apple is hosting the event at Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino. Previously the company has hosted the September event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco or Apple’s Cupertino campus. It’s easy to speculate that this year Apple maybe looking at seating more people for the event as it prepares to announce new hardware models and new product categories.

According to the rumours and reports published by various sources Apple is widely expected to announce two new iPhones. The new iPhone will feature bigger screen size and have two variants. iPhone 6 could be available in 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screen size. If this turns out to be true then this would be the first time that the company introduces two new iPhones with different screen size.

iPhone 6 is also rumoured to feature new sensors, improved camera system and possibly also feature NFC.

Apple could also announce new product category by entering the wearables industry with an ‘iWatch’. Recent reports suggest that Apple could finally introduce a smart watch which will connect with the iPhone 6 and provide new ways to interact with our devices. The new wearable product could feature biometric sensors to monitor the user’s body and save vital stats on the iPhone.

Since, iPhone 6 and iWatch are expected to work together harmoniously it does make sense to introduce the new product category along with the smartphone.

With just 13 days left until the iPhone 6 keynote event kicks off, we can expect some new details emerge in the coming days. Apple will put all rumours at rest by unveiling new products on September 9th.

As the release date nears new details about the highly anticipated smartphone from Apple are being revealed. Recent part leaks seem to provide conclusive evidence that new iPhone 6 will be available in 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screen size variations.

A larger display would imply change in the devices’ resolution and according to a new report published by 9to5Mac, iPhone 6 will feature 828 x 1472 pixel resolution. The evidence pointing to this leak was found in iOS 8 files of Xcode 6 SDK beta. The files in the SDK reference to an iPhone with a resolution of 414 x 736. This value is in point format in the SDK so if we double the value, making it Retina resolution, we get 828 x 1472.

For the current generation iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S the SDK references to the point values as 320 x 568 which when doubled gives us the resolution as 640 x 1136.

iPhone 6 Resolution

The new resolution in upcoming iPhone 6 could make room for two additional rows and one additional column on a larger screen. The evidence found in the Xcode files suggests that Apple has been testing the new screen resolution internally. All the speculation and rumours will be finally put to rest when Apple announces the new iPhone at a special media event 19 days from today.

Bigger iPhone could also boast longer battery life. 5.5 inch screen iPhone is expected to support 2,925 mAh battery, while iPhone 5s currently features 1,560 mAh battery. Other features could include new sensors, better camera and could also possibly include NFC.

With the of iPhone 5 Apple for the first time since the introduction of iPod changed the charging connector on its mobile devices. The iPhone 5 featured a lighting connector which was smaller and also added the convenience of not knowing which side up, as the connector is reversible. Apple’s executive in support of the new charging connector said that it was going to be standard for the next ten years.

Latest rumours point to evidence that Apple is working on new iPhone 6 charging cable. Sonny Dickson, who is known to share information about Apple’s future product roadmap, posted a photo of the new cable on his Twitter account.

A new smaller lighting cable allowed Apple to make the sixth-gen iPhone thinner and its reversibility made charging your device even easier. Now, it seems that the company may release new lighting to USB cable with the USB port being reversible which will make it very convenient to connect the cable without failing the first few times trying to figure out which direction is correct.

Apple is certainly not the first when it comes to reversible USB cables. There are many third party cables and flash drives that offer reversible ports. However, it will be interesting to see if this rumour turns out to be true.

iPhone 6 is expected to be announced during a special media event on September 9th. It will be made available in two screen sizes 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch variations. The high end model is rumoured to feature sapphire glass. Other features could include NFC, 1GB RAM and better battery life.

Apple has released its first TV ad for the iPhone 5s dubbed “Metal Mastered”. This comes just a few days after the company released print ads on the back of many top magazines. The new iPhone 5s ad shows gold taking liquid shape and flowing over the body of iPhone 5s as it turns it gold. It then shows a finger unlocking the device using Touch ID.

This year Apple launched two new iPhones, a plastic version and the flagship model. The company chose to promote the iPhone 5c first and even features in on the homepage as the page loads the first time. Many reports suggest that the company was facing low production yield for the iPhone 5s therefore it could be a thoughtful strategy to promote the model that is available in bulk. Since the iPhone 5c is comparatively easier to manufacture and with internals same as previous gen iPhone the availability wasn’t an issue.

Analysts believe that iPhone 5s outsells iPhone 5c in all major countries. The second round of marketing efforts seem to pass the spotlight to iPhone 5s, the flagship model. The new phone features faster 64-bit A7 processor, improved camera and fingerprint sensor.

The new advertisement plays the song “Ooh La La” by Goldfrapp in the background. This years choice of songs isn’t unique for Apple as it has been used for products such as Motorola KRZR, cometic products etc.

Shipping date estimates for the iPhone 5s have improved since last week as the company finally catches up with pent-up demand. We can expect more advertisements from Apple as the company prepares for yet another blockbuster holiday season.

The latest iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c from Apple went on sale in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK on September 20th. Apple recently announced opening weekend sales figures of 9 million iPhones sold. However, the company did not give a breakdown for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c separately.

Judging by the availability of iPhone 5s models at Apple stores and the slipping of shipping dates to October, it was easy to believe that iPhone 5s is clearly more popular. Now, a new report by Localytics gives us some more insight into how popular is the iPhone 5s vs. iPhone 5c. The analytics company examined 20 million unique iPhones and then analysed the breakdown by country.

The report reveals that China leads in terms of users’ preference for iPhone 5s over iPhone 5c. One of the results for the popularity could be the new gold color. Many analysts believe that in the Asian market gold color phone would be extremely popular.

One possible explanation: there was a lot of hoopla around the addition of the gold-colored iPhone 5s as a very attractive addition in particular for Asian markets so this hypothesis may hold true.

Except the UK all other major markets were reported to have a very high ratio of the 5s vs. the 5c. The reason behind this could be due to subsidies not playing a major role in buyers decision and the fact that the economy is still recovering.

Further, the report highlights that the United States accounts for 68% of all active iPhone 5s and 5c devices. In simple terms, these numbers clearly suggest that more users are opting to buy the all-new iPhone 5s than the iPhone 5c.

Apple’s iPhone 5s comes with improved camera, dual-tone LED flash, 64-bit chip A7 processor and Touch ID fingerprint sensor. This year the company added two new colors to the lineup, introducing space gray and gold. Even though iPhone 5c is available at $100 cheaper the launch weekend certainly suggests more interest in the faster flagship model than the more colorful 5c.

The all-new iPhone 5s will go on sale on September 20th in ten countries and for the first time China will be one of them. This year Apple did not take any pre-orders for the iPhone 5S however, in China and Hong Kong the company started accepting reservations for iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s on September 17th.

Shortly after the iPhone 5s reservations went live, the stock for most models were sold out. It was reported that gold color was one of the quick sell outs. The reason behind Apple not taking pre-orders this year is because of limited supplies. We previously reported that Apple was facing issues with the fingerprint sensor and even though the smartphone will launch on schedule the supplies will be limited.

Stock selling out in China is a clear indication that the availability of the new iPhone 5s will be constrained worldwide. Customers in the U.S can either order the iPhone 5s online on September 20th or visit an Apple Store to buy it. However, due to limited stock it might be difficult to buy it on launch day.

Apple’s new iPhone 5s features Touch ID fingerprint technology, enhanced camera and 64bit A7 chip. The design is same as the iPhone 5 with minor changes to the overall look. iPhone 5s also features dual-tone LED flash for natural looking photos even in low light conditions.

iPhone 5s is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB memory variations in white, gold and space gray colors. Are you excited about getting an iPhone 5s? Will you visiting the Apple Store or ordering it online? Let us know in the comments below.

Apple unveiled the all-new iPhone 5C during a keynote presentation on September 10th, the phone is now available for pre-order in 10 countries. The company began taking preorders for iPhone 5C at 12:01 am PT on September 13 on Apple.com.

iPhone 5C is also available for pre-order at major carrier partners. The phone is available in 5 colours: green, blue, pink, white and yellow. 5C is available in 16GB and 32GB models and is priced at $99 and $199 respectively with a two year contract. List of countries where the pre-orders have gone live include: U.S., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom

Technical specifications of iPhone 5C are similar to last years iPhone 5. It features a dual-core A6 chip, 8 megapixel rear camera, 4 inch retina display however, the shell of the phone is now polycarbonate. Apple has improved the front facing camera by featuring a 1.2 megapixel camera and the battery has been slightly improved.

Many believed that iPhone 5C will be a budget phone but, the phone will retail at $549 without a contract which is still very expensive. Apple’s strategy continues to remain the same. The company doesn’t want to cut down its margin and will offer its smartphone at premium price.

Mid-priced smartphones running Android have become increasingly popular in Asia for Samsung. Apple feels confident to compete in the $500-$700 range even for a phone with specifications same as last years and a polycarbonate body.

Third party retailers are offering discounts on the iPhone 5C even before it launches. Walmart is offering 5C at $79 with a two year contract. Even T-Mobile has a deal for no money down and 24 monthly payments of $22.

Will you buying the new iPhone 5C? What is the best feature according to you? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

The iPhone 5S event didn’t pack any surprises this time. Everything Apple announced had already been leaked through various leaks published online. Even the name of the fingerprint scanner was leaked just minutes before Apple event went live.

So, what is the all-new iPhone 5S all about you ask? Apple hasn’t changed its strategy since the original iPhone. It continues to introduce an all-new design every two-years so it wasn’t a surprise that iPhone 5S design remained the same as its predecessor. However, there are three notable differences: Metal ring, Camera and Performance.

The home button in iPhone 5S has a metal ring around it. This ring has been put in place to support the new Touch ID (fingerprint) scanner. Now unlocking your iPhone will be as easy as placing your finger or thumb on the home button and gaining access to your device. During the keynote presentation Phil Schiller mentioned that half of the iPhone users do not set pass codes. As smartphones increasingly carry more and more sensitive data securing the access to our device is of huge importance.

Apple believes that by introducing Touch ID customers will appreciate how easily they can protect their device with seamless integration of a fingerprint scanner under the home button. You can even use your Touch ID to authenticate iTunes, App Store and iBooks purchases. It’s worth noting that Apple is not allowing developers to take advantage of this new feature and is keeping it closed atleast for now.

There has been a lot of talk about customers privacy and how companies handles all the sensitive data. Apple clearly mentioned that Touch ID data is not stored on iCloud and is never shared with Apple. It is locally encrypted on the all new A7 chip.

The iPhone 5S takes another huge leap in terms of its CPU and graphics performance if we go by the numbers Apple provides. The company claims that iPhone 5S is twice as fast CPU and graphics performance when compared with iPhone 5. Mobile technology is evolving at an unprecedented rate. Just 6 years after the introduction of the original iPhone, the new iPhone 5S promises to provide 40 times faster CPU and 56 times faster graphics performance.

A7 chip is a 64 bit which is the first ever on any smartphone. But, the chip is not the only “firsts” for Apple’s smartphone. The camera system has been overhauled and now the new iPhone features dual-led flash which the company calls True Tone flash. Where traditionally companies place two white LED’s Apple has integrated white and amber color LED flashlight. The company claims that the dual-tone flash enables the iPhone to take more natural photographs in which the skin tones appear true to life.

Apple has also introduced new slow-mo mode where you can record video in 120fps to capture that perfect action in a video and create a dramatic effect. There’s an all-new burst mode as well, now the iPhone can take unto 10 shots in 1 second and even selects the best shot for you and deleting the rest is as easy as tapping one button.

iPhone 5S will be available in three metal finishes. Last years slate has been discontinued and now theres gold, silver and space gray finish available. Battery performance hasn’t seen any significant gains except for a better standby time.

iOS 7 and all Apple apps have been optimised to take advantage of the new 64bit A7 chip. Apple has also introduced new M7 coprocessor that collects data from motion sensors like gyroscope and accelerometer and feed the info to A7 without causing much battery drain.

Overall iPhone 5S features the beautiful design of the iPhone 5, is twice as fast, has enhanced camera system and now it will recognise your fingerprint. iPhone 5S is certainly “forward thinking” in every sense.

iPhone 5S keynote event is now live at the Town Hall Apple Campus. We’re expecting Apple to announce all-new iPhone 5S and a low cost iPhone 5C. The company will also share release date of iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks.

Apple has in the past streamed live video stream of the WWDC keynote event, however this year the company has not shared a live stream of the iPhone event. Last year Apple TV was updated with “Apple Events” channel for the streaming. Even though a live stream is not available many tech bloggers will be at the iPhone event to cover the event. We will be posting tech specs, release date, photos, videos, pre-order dates and everything you need to know from today’s event as it concludes later this morning. According to various rumors and reports iPhone 5S will feature Touch ID sensor (fingerprint), faster A7 processor, dual-led flashlight and updated camera software.

Apple will also announce iPhone 5C, a low cost iPhone to make the smartphone more affordable for everyone. This could lead to significant increase in market share for Apple in a market where Android dominates with mid-priced smartphones.

iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks golden master seeds could be released today to the developers and could be made available to general public on September 17th just before the release of iPhone 5S.

A page from the user guide of the upcoming iPhone 5S has allegedly leaked online which suggests the new fingerprint scanner will be called ‘Touch ID sensor’. Apple’s iPhone 5S is about to be unveiled at a media event at 10:00 AM PT in Cupertino, Calif. and now this photo has been uncovered by Nowhereelse.fr.

The user guide photo shows the home screen of the iPhone 5S running iOS 7 and marking labels on the physical buttons of the device. Clearly the home button carries an additional label “Touch ID sensor”. The style of the home button with a silver ring is consistent with previous leak of iPhone 5S packaging photo.

Fingerprint / Touch ID Sensor could be the main highlight feature of the new iPhone 5S. It has been widely reported that Apple’s use of the fingerprint technology as a means to authenticate or unlock the device is very easy and seamless. The additional silver ring on the home button will act as a sensor to record the users fingerprint with accuracy.

The all-new iPhone 5S will also feature dual-led flashlight, new A7 processor and new camera software to support slow motion video recording. We’re just minutes away from the new iPhone being announced. The release date for the new iPhone 5S is expected to be around September 20th. Pre-orders for the new iPhone could go live as early as September 13th.

With the new Touch ID sensor iPhone 5S could be an attractive upgrade for users with previous gen iPhone. We will report on all the tech specs of the new iPhone as soon as the live keynote event is over and all details are available.

We’ve been reporting about the rumors and various leaks surrounding the fingerprint sensor in iPhone 5S. Photos of the home button flex cable that leaked last week was a strong indicator about the inclusion of the new sensor in iPhone 5S. Additionally, packaging of the upcoming iPhone was also leaked that showed silver button on the home button.

All the recent leaks and rumors have provided significant proof that we will indeed see Apple announce the new iPhone 5S with a fingerprint sensor. Analysts have repeatedly predicted Apple’s purchase of Authentec to be closely tied in with the fingerprint sensor making it to the iPhone. Now, The Wall Street Journal has also confirmed the rumor based on sources close to the matter.

Placing a finger on a computer or smartphone has long been proposed as a way to avoid the need for passwords to authenticate users of computers and other devices. People familiar with the matter said last week that Apple will include a fingerprint scanner on the more expensive of two iPhones it is expected to unveil Tuesday at an event at its Cupertino, Calif., headquarters.

Even though Apple’s iPhone may not not be the first smartphone to feature a fingerprint scanner, it is believed that Apple’s implementation of the feature is the easiest and seamless. Using fingerprint data to unlock devices or use as a replacement for passwords has been available on computers and phones however, the accuracy and reliability has always been a concern.

iPhone 5S will be unveiled at a media event being held today at the Town Hall Campus in Cupertino, Calif. It will be interesting to see how Apple uses the fingerprint scanning technology to make iPhone even more secure and easy to use.

As the release date for the new iPhone 5S nears new details about the upcoming launch continue to be revealed in the blogosphere. Apple’s next-gen iPhone is widely rumored to add a new fingerprint sensor technology to the smartphone.

iPhone components have been leaked and photos of the parts have been published on the web many times. Earlier photos of the home button flex cable did not hint towards the addition of a new sensor however, now a new photo [Google Translate] has emerged which seems to confirm the new functionality.

Apple is known to test new features secretively, it is believed that the company used an external fingerprint sensor for testing purpose instead of incorporating the sensor internally. This could explain why the earlier leaks of the cables did not show the sensor. As iPhone 5S release date is around the corner and with mass production of the new device in full force the actual home button flex could have been leaked.

The photo shows an additional attachment to the home button and when it is compared with iPhone 5 is becomes clear that this could indeed be the new fingerprint sensor.

iPhone 5S will carry the same design as the iPhone 5 but will boast significant improvements over its predecessor. All-new A7 chip is expected to provide the new iPhone with 31% faster performance. With dual-led flash support low light photos on the new iPhone 5S could prove to be a very useful feature.

iPhone media event is scheduled for September 10th where Apple is widely expected to announce iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks related updates and launches.

Are you excited about swiping the home button to unlock the new iPhone 5S? Do you think adding a fingerprint sensor alone could be enough to upgrade from an iPhone 5 to 5S? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Did you always want to own a an iPhone that packs some bling factor right out of the box? If recent rumors are to be believed then we could see the introduction of gold color iPhone 5S. New photos of iPhone 5S back panel appeared on MacBoutic which show gold casing as a possible new addition to the new iPhone lineup.

Apple has always had a more traditional approach when it comes to offering color options for the iPhone. The company has offered only black and white color models however, that may soon change.

The iPods have been available in various colors since a long time and Apple has been very experimentative with the form factors. In every quarterly financial reports since the past few years the iPod sales have declined sequentially. Even though Apple still controls 70% of the mp3 player market share the company does acknowledge the decline of iPod sales.

As the iPod sales decline and users are more keen on owing one smartphone as opposed to a dedicated media player and a phone Apple could be looking at offering more color options in the iPhone to bridge that gap.

Cheap iPhone 5C which will reportedly be offered in many colors and that could be like the iPod touch finally having phone functionality. So, more color options could increase the sales as it would overcome the common complain of Apple’s iPhone design being “same and boring”.

The photos of the gold casing back panel certainly look very interesting however, its very difficult to establish the authenticity of the photos. Apple is expected to hold an iPhone related event on September 10th and it will be interesting to see if these rumors and reports turn out to be true.

Apple is rumored to announce the new iPhone 5S during a special keynote event on September 10. A number of leaks and reports in the recent past provide enough evidence to conclude that the next-gen iPhone will carry the same design as the previous iPhone.

According to a new report published by KGI’s Mingchi Kuo iPhone 5S will feature a new A7 chip. The new chip as the report suggests will be ARMv8 based application processor. This could give boost to the speed and performance to the new device which will run iOS 7 out of the box. In addition to a new processor the new hardware could use an upgraded memory from LPDDR2 to LPDDR3. Even though the RAM will likely remain the same at 1GB it will be speedier.

Since Apple is in charge of both hardware  and OS design, it is capable of minimalizing memory capacity at an optimized state. Therefore, A7’s RAM will likely be unchanged at 1GB.

In line with recent reports published by various publications Kuo notes that the new iPhone 5S will support a sapphire home button with a fingerprint sensor. When Apple acquired Authentec it was speculated that Apple could use fingerprint sensor technology in future iOS devices. A fingerprint sensor below the home button could provide secure authentication to access the device and even eliminate the need to remember passwords as users could just tap the home button with their finger to log in or unlock the device.

Kuo’s report further suggests that the camera will largely remain unchanged in the new iPhone 5S. While the camera would be same 8 megapixel however, it could feature a larger F2.0 aperture and dual flash lights.

Another interesting prediction in the report is concerning a new color option in addition to black and white. Apple could introduce a gold color casing for the new iPhone 5S. We could also see new storage option for 128GB.

There have been mixed reports about the new gold casing and the new storage option. Apple does offer 128GB iPad so it is possible that the company could be looking at offering a high storage model to satisfy the need of pro users.

Based on these predictions does the new iPhone 5S excite you? Will you be upgrading your phone to iPhone 5S this year? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Apple has been long rumored to be working on a low-cost iPhone to compete in the mid-priced segment of the smartphone market. There have been various reports that suggest that iPhone 5C will feature a plastic body and will come is different colors.

Now, SonnyDickson has posted a high resolution video of yellow color back housing of “iPhone 5C”. The increasing number of parts leaks and images of the purported new hardware could suggest that the low-cost iPhone is indeed in the works.

We recently highlighted a report that predicts Apple’s upcoming iPhone event will be held on September 10th. The company is expected to unveil the next-gen iPhone 5S. The new iPhone could feature fingerprint sensor, new camera, dual-led flash and a faster processor.

Apple has always offered the previous gen iPhone at a low cost with the regular carrier contracts. However, the carrier unlocked iPhones price is still quite high. New low-cost iPhone 5C would offer a great opportunity to offer the same iOS ecosystem to more customers at a lower price point even when the phone is bought without a contract.

A lower price point would expose Apple to larger adoption in Asian countries too which has become an important strategy for Apple’s future expansion plans. Apple’s popular integration of hardware and software at a low cost could boost the sales volumes and thus expose new customers to Apple’s ecosystem.

According to a new report, Apple is expected to announce iPhone 5S release date on September 10th during a special keynote event.

AllThingsD published a report about Apple holding a “Big iPhone” media event according to sources familiar with the matter. The next-gen iPhone is rumored to feature internal hardware change and would most likely retain the same design as iPhone 5.

iPhone 5S is expected to feature a finger-print sensor beneath the home button to allow easy phone unlocking experience and could possibly be used to authenticate password log-ins. Among other changes the new hardware could get a higher resolution camera with dual-flash and more RAM.

There hasn’t been much speculation about the next gen chip for the iPhone so it isn’t clear if Apple will use a new chip for the seventh-gen iPhone. Every new release the company loves to brag about speed and battery improvements so its possible that the company has quietly made some enhancements to the next-gen SoC.

Probably the bigger news for some of the customers is a cheaper iPhone widely referred to as “iPhone 5C” that could also be unveiled during the media event. According to analysts the need to compete in the mid-priced smartphone market is an important factor to grow for the Cupertino, Calif. based company. Apple’s major competitor Samsung offers smartphones is various price and size categories and continues to lead in the smartphone market share worldwide.

Apple revolutionised the smartphone category in 2007 when the first iPhone was released and since then its competitors have caught up by offering a lot of choice to customers. It would be interesting to see if Apple decides to sell a low-cost iPhone to capture market share.

Apple on Tuesday posted a new TV ad spot for iPhone called ‘FaceTime Every Day’. The ad is similar in concept to the previously released ads ‘Music Every Day‘ and ‘Photos Every Day‘.

The ad shows iPhone customers using FaceTime feature in different locations and situations. It ends with a message that says, “everyday more people connect face to face on the iPhone than any other phone”.

The latest series of TV ad focusses on the popularity of photos, music and now the use of FaceTime on the iPhone. iPhone has been the most popular camera to take photos according to the number of uploads to social sharing sites and iTunes music store is the number one digital store.

iPhone product line is due for a refresh this fall and as rumors about new product launch rise Apple experiences low sales for the existing models. The ad is released just at the time when most news outlets are discussing the next-gen iPhone. With the latest ad Apple would hope to pull customers interest towards iPhone 5.

According to many reports the next-gen iPhone is expected to feature a finger print scanner, most likely, under the home button. In addition to that, new camera hardware and new faster processors would be a part of the next-gen launch.
