Apple Rolls Out Firmware Update for USB-C AirPods Max
Last night, Apple released a new software update for the USB-C version of its AirPods Max headphones, updating the firmware from version 7E99 to 7E108. According to Apple’s release notes, this update primarily includes “bug fixes and other improvements.” This could be an enhancement to last month’s update, which introduced support for Lossless audio when the headphones are connected via a cable.
How to Install the Update
To install this update, first ensure that your headphones are within range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac connected to Wi-Fi. Begin by charging your AirPods Max, wait for 30 minutes, and then reconnect your AirPods Max to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. You can check the software version in the Settings app by navigating to General > About > AirPods.
