Les prochains modèles d'iPad Air et d'iPad Pro au printemps 2027 ?

Apple’s Spring 2027 Launch: New iPad Air and Pro Models Expected

Traditionally, Apple has spaced out the launches of its iPad Air and iPad Pro models by several months. However, according to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, this pattern will change with both product lines anticipated to be updated in spring 2027. The forthcoming iPad Air models are reportedly codenamed J807 and J837, though specific codenames for the new iPad Pro models haven’t been disclosed.

iPad Air Updates on the Horizon

Back in February, Mark Gurman hinted at Apple’s plans to incorporate OLED screens into the 2027 iPad Air. He has since become more cautious, merely stating that Apple is “working on a future upgrade to OLED for the iPad Air.” Additionally, we can expect the inclusion of the more advanced and powerful M5 chip, along with the N1 chip for improved management of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread network. Cellular versions might be equipped with the C1 or C1X modem.

Upcoming Features for the iPad Pro

For the iPad Pro, it is logical to anticipate the inclusion of the upcoming M6 chip, which will be the first to be manufactured using TSMC’s 2 nm process technology. However, Gurman recently reported that Apple is fast-tracking the development of the M7 chip, which could be ready as early as the first half of 2027. This chip is expected to bring significant advancements, particularly in speeding up AI computations. It remains uncertain, but it’s possible that Apple might launch the iPad Pro with an M7 instead of an M6 chip! Another expected feature is the integration of a vapor chamber which would enhance the cooling system of the tablet.

New Apple Pencil Models in Development

These updates may also introduce new models of the Apple Pencil USB-C and Apple Pencil Pro. While Gurman does not specify whether these will include new features, he anticipates a redesign to make their batteries removable in response to new European regulations.

Pricing Adjustments Amid Rising Costs

At the end of June, Apple significantly raised the prices of its tablets due to soaring memory costs. The iPad Air M4 now starts at 819€, up from 669€, and the iPad Pro M5 now starts at 1319€, up from 1199€ previously. While it seems unlikely that the prices of the iPad Pro will increase further with the upcoming update, the iPad Air might see a price rise if it indeed switches to an OLED display.
