Après l'iPad A16, un nouvel iPad d'entrée de gamme prévu début 2026

Apple to Launch New Entry-Level iPad in Spring 2026

Approximately a year after the release of the iPad A16 in March 2025, Apple is set to unveil a new entry-level iPad in the spring of 2026, around March or April, according to sources cited by Mark Gurman at Bloomberg. The upcoming models, codenamed J581 for the Wi-Fi version and J582 for the 5G version, are expected to primarily feature an updated chip. While it is not yet clear which chip will be used, the upgrade will be significant regardless, as the current A16 chip is the last model not to support Apple Intelligence.

Whether Apple decides to include the A17 Pro chip or the A18 chip, both options would come with 8 GB of RAM, an increase from the 6 GB in the A16 chip. This enhancement would enable support for Apple’s artificial intelligence applications. It is reasonable to anticipate one or two other related technical improvements, however, the design of these new models is likely to remain unchanged.
