Google has rolled out a new update affecting nearly its entire Pixel lineup, featuring crucial security patches, enhanced Wi-Fi stability, and the resolution of various bugs.
Modern smartphones increasingly rely on software updates to maintain optimal performance. These regular updates safeguard devices from emerging threats and ensure smoother operations. Through these enhancements, users can avoid numerous malfunctions and extend the lifespan of their smartphones.
Beginning July 8, 2025, Google released its July security update. This update impacts a broad range of smartphones, from the Pixel 6a to the latest Pixel 9 Pro Fold, including the Pixel Tablet. Identified with the build number BP2A.250705.008, the update addresses critical vulnerabilities and resolves several issues that could disrupt daily usage.
July Update Fixes Android Auto Bugs and Enhances Wi-Fi Connectivity on Pixel 9
The latest firmware brings significant improvements. Display issues in Android Auto, such as less smooth visual transitions, have been fixed. Wi-Fi connection stability has also been enhanced, which minimizes disruptions and improves reliability when on the move. The update covers models from the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7a, to the recent Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 9. Even the newly launched Pixel 9 Pro Fold benefits from these fixes, ensuring better user continuity.

The update is available directly in the phone settings, under “System” then “System Update“. Simply search for the update and install it to enjoy all the improvements.
In addition to these updates, Google is already preparing for the next major release with Android 16, expected to launch in a stable form this fall. A beta version, Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1, is currently being tested to refine the final details before its official release. This version also addresses some issues such as the display of buttons in settings or unwanted lock screen sounds.
These efforts demonstrate Google’s commitment to strengthening the Pixel ecosystem ahead of the upcoming Pixel 10 series, which is expected to include multiple models, including the Pixel 10 Pro and a foldable variant.
