Samsung tri fold

Speculation is growing around the Galaxy Z TriFold. A new animation showcasing Samsung’s upcoming three-panel foldable smartphone from a different perspective confirms its unique folding method and hints at high-quality selfie capabilities.

In the world of tech, major companies often showcase their innovations and new products with much fanfare at conferences. This is evident in Google’s Made by Google events and Apple’s well-known keynotes. Samsung too makes its mark with Galaxy Unpacked events, with the next one rumored to be happening soon – possibly on September 29.

It is during this upcoming event that Samsung’s next foldable device, the Galaxy Z TriFold, is expected to be unveiled. Rumors are swirling around this device, and we’ve recently shared a video on how it might fold. A new animation appears to back up this information.

Galaxy Z TriFold: Rumors Point to High-Quality Selfies

TechHighest, which previously posted the initial animation showing how the Galaxy Z TriFold should fold, has posted another update on X (formerly Twitter). The new video offers a fresh perspective on the folding/unfolding mechanism. It shows the left panel unfolding first, followed by the right panel; then the right panel folds inward, with the left panel folding over it. This latest animation hence suggests that, unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, Samsung’s new three-panel foldable smartphone will not fold like an accordion.

The Galaxy Z TriFold, set to be Samsung’s first three-panel foldable smartphone, appears to offer a unique design. If the design holds true to what has been leaked, it could provide a tablet-like visual experience, a compact form factor usable with one hand, and high-quality selfies. This is at least what the new animation suggests, showing that the main camera sensor could be used for selfies.

While these videos do not guarantee that the final product’s mechanism will be exactly as shown, their consistency lends credence to the reliability of these rumors. We might find out more soon if Samsung indeed hosts a Galaxy Unpacked event at the end of September. The Galaxy Z TriFold might not be the only highlight of the event; Samsung’s commercial version of Project Moohan, its mixed reality headset running on Android XR, and a pair of AI-powered smart glasses could also be featured.
