Samsung tri fold

Expected to be officially unveiled by Samsung before the year’s end, the South Korean manufacturer’s first triple-folding smartphone continues to be exposed through leaked animations on social media platforms.

While Samsung has faced some disappointment after delaying the launch of its first triple-folding smartphone and its XR headset to October 21, the device known as the Galaxy Z TriFold remains a hot topic. Throughout the year, leakers have released several animations showing how the device folds and promising high-quality selfie capabilities.

Newly spotted videos from a Samsung app have also leaked, identified by @TechHighest and @evowizz, who shared them on X (formerly Twitter). As they noted, some animations reveal features already available on current folding models, such as the ability to transfer the home screen from the cover display to the main screen. However, these are not the only features worth noting.

New Leaked Animations of Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Reveal Exciting Features

Indeed, some of these fresh clips hint at potential new features of the Galaxy Z TriFold. According to the leaks, Samsung appears to focus on an interface with smooth transitions. One animation shows a button that, when activated, allows apps running on the cover screen (Samsung Internet in the example) to continue seamlessly when the smartphone is unfolded.

Another animated video demonstrates the use of Galaxy AI in Samsung Internet: pressing the Galaxy AI icon opens a panel on the right that occupies about a third of the screen. This panel can also become a floating window, which the user can seemingly move around freely. This feature suggests enhanced flexibility for multitasking.

Another clip shows the ability to place or receive a call when the smartphone is unfolded: the call screen then takes up a third of the display, and it appears that the user can continue browsing other apps. Lastly, an animation showcases a 100x zoom feature, a capability previously unseen on Samsung’s folding devices.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy Z TriFold might be priced around 3,000 euros, directly competing with Huawei’s Mate XT, which is priced at 3,499 euros. However, its successor, the Mate XTs, is already being revealed in photos. For this ‘Lite’ version, rumors suggest a price of about 1,800 euros. It remains to be seen which of these triple-folding smartphones will win over users’ preferences.
