Galaxy S25 Edge

With its launch just around the corner, numerous details about the Galaxy S25 Edge have been unveiled. From its color options and design to its camera, battery, and AI capabilities, here’s the latest scoop on Samsung’s super slim and lightweight smartphone.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be introduced on May 13th (at 2 AM local time). The event will reveal the release date and pricing of the device, but much is already known about it. Android Headlines has released marketing visuals from Samsung, offering a good look at the design and some technical specifications of the device.

According to the images, the ultra-slim and lightweight phone will be available in three colors: black, sky blue, and white. Samsung emphasizes that despite its slimness, the phone remains durable, featuring a titanium build, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for screen protection, and an IP68 waterproof rating.

Galaxy S25 Edge: No Telephoto Lens, But a 2x Optical Zoom

It was previously mentioned by Samsung during the launch date announcement that the main camera sensor boasts a 200 MP resolution. However, it is now revealed that it will offer a “2x optical quality zoom”, even though the S25 Edge lacks a dedicated telephoto lens. The second rear lens is a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. A 12 MP selfie camera is also featured at the front in the now standard central punch-hole.

Regarding performance, the visuals do not specify which SoC will power the smartphone, but it is likely to be the same Snapdragon 8 Elite used in other Galaxy S25 models. Unsurprisingly, Samsung’s marketing will primarily focus on Galaxy AI features.

In terms of battery life, the manufacturer promises an all-day battery, although the exact capacity is not specified. This aspect will be particularly scrutinized, as there might be concerns that such a slim phone could not house a sufficiently robust battery to ensure good endurance. Let’s hope that Samsung proves these doubts unfounded and that the Galaxy S25 Edge is finely optimized to minimize its power consumption.
