The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are on the horizon, and Samsung has started teasing these models. Their designs are expected to be slimmer and lighter than ever before. A well-known leaker has just revealed their official unveiling date.
Samsung’s next generation of foldable smartphones is becoming more defined. For weeks now, the company has been hinting at a new model that is thinner, lighter, and built to last. Industrial designs leaked in late May depict a Galaxy Z Fold 7 like no other, boasting a mere 9 mm thickness when folded. This unprecedented slimness aims for enhanced portability without compromising durability. The official teaser hints at a sleek outline, though stops short of disclosing many technical specifics.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is set to debut alongside the Z Fold 7, sporting a design that closely resembles its predecessor. However, this new iteration is expected to feature a larger battery, estimated at 4,300 mAh compared to the previous model’s 4,000 mAh. Meanwhile, the Fold 7 is likely to retain a 4,400 mAh battery. No significant changes are anticipated in terms of power or screen capabilities, but Samsung appears focused on refining what already exists. There are also rumors suggesting the simultaneous release of new Galaxy Watches and Tab S11 tablets.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 to Launch Sooner Than Expected
According to leaker Evan Blass on X, Samsung is planning to hold its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9 at 4 PM French time. The event is rumored to take place in New York, though this has not been officially confirmed. This date is earlier than the usual launch timeline for foldable models, which typically occur in late July or early August. By choosing this date, Samsung aims to get ahead of competitors like Honor and Oppo, whose foldables are expected around the same time.
Pre-orders are expected to open immediately following the conference, with various trade-in deals and discounts available. The devices are slated for release by the end of the month. For comparison, the Honor Magic V3 features a 5,150 mAh battery and the Oppo Find N5 boasts 5,600 mAh, providing them a competitive edge. Thus, Samsung is betting on a refined design, robust build, and an early launch to maintain its stance in the foldable smartphone market.
