The Family Budget Now Includes a Higher YouTube Subscription Cost. The family plan, which covers up to 6 members, is now priced at €29.99 per month. If you are already a subscriber, you should have received an email notifying you of this price increase that will be reflected in your next bill.
This price increase is more significant when you consider that the previous rate was €23.99. This represents an increase of nearly 25%. The last price adjustment was made in 2023, while the original launch price in France for the family plan was €17.99.
The email sent by Google only repeated the usual explanation of service improvements and offered nothing new to justify the increase. The services remain the same: no advertisements, background play, and offline downloads. The Individual and Student subscriptions remain priced at €12.99 and €7.99 respectively. Meanwhile, a new plan for two users has not yet been officially introduced. With its potential price set at €20, it would likely be less competitive compared to the Family plan following this price adjustment.
In recent weeks, both Netflix and Spotify have adjusted their pricing structures. Netflix has revised all its prices, while Spotify also changed its pricing but offered to maintain the original price if users agreed to give up free audiobook listening hours.
