Google va élargir la prise en charge d'AirDrop sur Android

Google Expands Quick Share Compatibility

Last night, Google announced plans to expand its Quick Share feature, similar to AirDrop, to include additional manufacturers later this year. Notably, this expansion will include Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi, and HONOR. Previously in February, Google had revealed collaborations with various partners to extend support for this feature, which was first introduced with the Pixel 10 in November. However, at that time, the specific brands involved were not disclosed.

Currently, the list of devices that support this feature is relatively short, including Samsung’s Galaxy S26, Google’s Pixel 8A, 9, and 10, OPPO’s Find N6 and Find X9, and Vivo’s X300 Ultra. The upcoming devices expected to support this feature include Samsung’s S25, S24, Z Flip7, Z Fold7, Z Flip6, Z Fold6, Z TriFold, OPPO’s Find X8, OnePlus 15, and HONOR’s Magic V6 and Magic8 Pro.

New Features for Incompatible Models

For devices that do not support Quick Share, Google has introduced a new feature that utilizes a QR code. Users can scan this code with an iPhone to initiate a transfer via Google’s cloud service. This feature is available on some models starting today and is expected to be fully rolled out by June. Additionally, Google plans to integrate Quick Share into specific applications, with WhatsApp mentioned as one example.
