At Config 2025, its annual flagship event, Figma introduced four innovative products, including an AI-powered code generator and a comprehensive suite of vector editing tools.
Nearly a year after the debut of Figma Slides and its initial AI-driven features at Config 2024, Figma utilized its yearly conference held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in San Francisco, to unveil four new offerings: Figma Sites, Figma Make, Figma Draw, and Figma Buzz. The event attracted over 8500 attendees, where the California-based company also announced additional features soon to be added to its collaborative prototyping software. Below is a detailed overview of the key announcements.
Figma Sites: A Comprehensive Web Creation Tool
Figma introduced Sites to meet the needs of users designing websites on its platform who rely on web developers or third-party tools to convert these designs into functioning websites. Described as an “all-in-one tool that enables designers to carry their creations through to production,” Sites is now available in beta for Professional subscribers with Full access. It seamlessly integrates into the existing software, allowing access to all components or designs already created while providing features that simplify the creation of dynamic websites, such as “adaptive layouts, pre-configured blocks, templates, and ready-to-use interactions,” according to the company, which reports only 30% of its users are developers. Additionally, Figma Sites will soon incorporate its AI-powered code generator, which can produce “customizable and reusable code layers” based on user’s text instructions.
With Sites, designers can focus more on creativity and less on technical implementation, Figma celebrates.
Figma Make: An AI-Powered Code Generator
Figma Make aims to enable users of all backgrounds “to explore and rapidly iterate on their ideas.” This AI-powered code generator, integrated directly into the platform and fueled by Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 Sonnet model launched in February, intends to “transform textual descriptions or existing designs into functional prototypes or applications.” Users can conceptualize a prototype or even create a complete mockup using a prompt, then refine the visual output using the integrated editor, adjusting font styles, margin sizes, and other visual elements. Figma Make is currently available in beta for Professional subscribers who have Full access.
Figma Draw: A Suite of Tools for Illustration and Vector Editing
Like Figma Sites, Figma Draw addresses a current gap in the tool: the near absence of vector creation and editing tools, which forces designers “to use other tools or adopt workaround solutions, often involving tedious import-export processes,” Figma laments. Portrayed as “a new integrated tool palette” that can replace the sidebar when activated, Figma Draw offers several features for illustration:
- Texture: The tool includes a range of brushes, texture effects, and dynamic outlines for “creating complex illustrations,” the company states.
- Vector Editing: Users will be able to create “precise and robust” vector paths using features like lasso, multiple editing, and shape generator. A text-on-path tool is also included.
Figma Draw is already available to paying subscribers with Full access. This toolbar is also accessible in Figma Slides, Figma Sites, and Figma Buzz.
Figma Buzz: An Interface for Creating Versatile Visuals
Marketed as “an accessible design tool,” Figma Buzz primarily targets branding and marketing teams. This tool, featuring AI-powered functionalities, aims to simplify the creation of versatile visuals that “adhere to brand identity.” Designers can create templates compliant with guidelines, ready for various uses such as social media posts and ads, which marketing teams can then utilize independently. Figma Buzz is expected to soon be available in beta for all users.
Until now, no platform truly met the needs of both professional designers and marketing teams: either they find makeshift solutions in Figma to stay synchronized, or they use separate platforms—at the expense of brand consistency and design quality, Figma believes.
Other Announcements from Config 2025
Figma also took the opportunity at its annual conference to introduce additional innovations, including a generator and editor of images based on 4o Image Generation, the model currently powering ChatGPT. Additionally, a module for automatic text content suggestion capable of completing text “with relevant suggestions” generated by AI was announced. The last significant announcement was the launch of “Grid,” described as “a new option for creating responsive layouts that automatically adjust to the designs.” This feature allows the creation of a flexible layout, with full control over the number of rows and columns, cell height and width, and content placement. “Switching to Dev Mode allows you to view the automatically generated CSS to facilitate collaboration with developers,” Figma adds. All these features are currently being rolled out in beta progressively.
