According to Reuters’ findings, the use of the social network as an information source hasn’t declined since Elon Musk’s takeover; in fact, it has seen growth in countries like Poland, the United States, and Australia.

The topics that resonate most with users of the social network appear to be political news, likely fueled by the upcoming 2024 presidential elections in the US and the 2025 elections in Poland.

X Still Trails Behind Meta in News Sharing

Reuters’ report did not focus solely on the social network X but also on other preferred news channels among internet users. The data indicates a steady position for X since 2020, despite losing many users.

While trailing behind YouTube and several of Meta’s tools like Instagram, the declining use of other social networks as news sources, such as WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook, could eventually benefit X.
