Apple Joins the Advisory Board of The Game Awards
Apple has recently become a member of the advisory board for The Game Awards, an annual video game award ceremony held every December in Los Angeles. The tech giant’s name now appears on The Game Awards’ website alongside other industry leaders such as Activision, AMD, EA, Epic Games, Kojima Productions, Microsoft, Nintendo, Riot Games, Rockstar Games, Sony, Tencent, Ubisoft, and Valve. The advisory board plays a significant role by helping to guide and advance the mission of The Game Awards. However, it is important to note that the board does not participate in the selection of nominees or winners and finds out the voting results at the same time as the general public.

Apple’s Growing Involvement in the Video Game Industry
Apple’s inclusion in the advisory committee of what is often referred to as the “Oscars of video games” highlights the company’s increasing involvement in the video game sector. Although Apple does not produce video games itself (despite having recently acquired a small gaming studio), it is a major player in the industry through its App Store and, to a lesser extent, Apple Arcade for iPhone and iPad. Furthermore, Apple is making efforts to attract developers of major titles to the Mac, which is becoming more appealing to a new audience with the enhanced capabilities of Apple Silicon chips.
