Apple has acquired the Canadian startup MayDay, known for its AI-driven calendar and task management application that automatically schedules appointments and reminders while learning from user habits to enhance performance over time. The founder of MayDay, Jeremy Bell, announced the sale of his company in April 2024 but did not reveal the buyer’s identity at that time. The acquisition was later confirmed to be by Apple through a statement made to the European Commission under the DMA, as discovered by journalists at MacGeneration.

Since the acquisition of MayDay occurred over a year ago, Apple may have already integrated its desired features into its systems. There is anticipation that a new version of the Apple Calendar application might soon be unveiled, incorporating features based on Apple Intelligence. The upcoming features of iOS 19 and macOS 16 are expected to be introduced at the WWDC on June 9.
