The start of a new year is always celebrated with the introduction of the latest chips in the newest devices. This is once again the case with the 2026 Acer Swift 16 AI, which notably features the Intel Core Ultra 3, or “Panther Lake” as it’s affectionately known.

Design
The 2026 Acer Swift 16 AI continues to showcase the high-end ethos of the Taiwanese manufacturer, with a metallic chassis that is exquisitely crafted in this Swift series. The design features less rounded edges these days, but includes some sharp angles, especially around the chassis’ perimeter to emphasize connectivity. Honestly? We love it.
This is a very elegant way to find its uniqueness amidst design codes that tend to push everyone towards utmost simplicity. Otherwise, all the standard boxes are checked: a thickness of just 1.48 cm at its thickest point, a very manageable weight of 1.55 kg for a 16-inch model… It must be said, Acer has delivered here a very beautiful machine that will easily win many admirers.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The large keyboard of the Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 is truly comfortable. The manufacturer seems to have really found its formula today, with very stable keys and a generous activation distance for an ultrabook format. Even the numeric keypad, though slightly cramped, is pleasant to use.
The touchpad, absolutely immense, now features haptic feedback. With sublime glide and well-adjusted feedback, there’s simply nothing to criticize: it’s perfect.
Connectivity
On the left, we have an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB A 3.2 port, and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. On the right, there’s a second USB A 3.2 port, a combo jack, and a microSD card reader. Additionally, there’s support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Almost everything is there. In the high-end segment, it’s always nice to have a USB-C charging port on each side, which is not the case here. And on a device of this size, a full-size SD card reader would really be appreciated by creatives. But let’s not be too picky; the connectivity is successful.
Webcam and Audio
The Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 features a Full HD webcam compatible with Windows Hello. The performance of this webcam isn’t particularly remarkable, though not terribly bad either. The colors are dull, the dynamic ranges are not well represented, and the output is quite noisy.
The audio, sadly, is not up to par with its price range. The highs are alright, at least if you don’t focus too much on them, but nothing is really pleasing to the ear, and the high volume distorts at the edges. Acer really needs to improve in this area.
Display
The Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 features a 16-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio. The screen is touch-sensitive, supports the included stylus, and benefits from a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Under our probe and with the CalMAN software from Portrait Displays, we find a coverage of 169% of the sRGB space and 113% of the DCI-P3 space. The maximum brightness is measured at 394 cd/m², with an average color temperature of 6168—a bit too warm—and a delta e00 average of 2.6 with a very good maximum deviation of 5.49.
In HDR, we find a maximum peak brightness of 629 cd/m², but as is often the case, the rest is not calibrated. This is a common problem on laptops, which readily highlight their great HDR brightness peaks, but make no effort to adjust the mode afterwards.
Software
Acer continues to offer a mixed software experience. Its central management software is always very user-friendly, with plenty of options and explanations for the general public. There are still some utilities that feel redundant, such as the camera management software, which is quite messy.
What grates the most is that on these high-end models for Acer, the manufacturer still allows for a maximum of adware software that opens pop-ups right in front of the user’s eyes. This is hardly forgivable at these price points.
Performance
In our test version, the Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 is powered by the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, a 16-core Panther Lake SoC—4 performance cores, 8 efficient cores, 4 ultra-efficient cores—capable of turboing up to 4.8 GHz. It is supported by 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 7467 MT/s, 1 TB of storage on PCie Gen 4, and benefits from the famous Intel Arc B390 graphics part that we have already tested extensively at MSI.
Benchmarks
In Cinebench 2026, we find scores of 3989 points in multi-threading and 487 points in single-threading. Compared to other options on the market, namely the Galaxy Book 6 Pro with the same chip, we are slightly below the maximum observed but still in the same performance pack.
It is in the graphics part where we can observe a drop in performance with a score of 6523 points under 3D Mark Steel Nomad Light. But with a positive point: unlike all the Panther Lake machines we’ve tested except for the Asus Zenbook Duo, the Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 maintains this level of performance from start to finish.
For storage, we indeed find the expected performances of PCIe Gen 4. During the crisis of 2026, this was not necessarily guaranteed.
Cooling and Noise
Acer is one of those manufacturers that does not hesitate to let its fans speak a bit louder to achieve better performance, and that’s again the case here. But the heat from Panther Lake seems easy to manage here without being excessively noisy, although the Swift 16 AI of 2026 is louder than the average ultrabook.
Battery Life
The Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 incorporates a 70 Wh battery that can be charged using a 100-watt USB-C power adapter.
With varied office use, screen brightness set to 50%, we find a battery life ranging between 12 and 13 hours. This is honest, very good for the time, but does not reach the twenty hours that Panther Lake has already offered on other configurations.
Price and Availability
The Acer Swift 16 AI of 2026 will be available in France starting May at a starting price of €1599.99 for our test configuration.
