Xiaomi is gearing up to launch one of its most significant software updates in recent years. Built on Android 16, HyperOS 3 will deliver enhanced smoothness and a fresh design. Here are the models that will get the update right from its release.
Every year, leading smartphone brands roll out significant updates to refine their user interface, boost performance, and enhance device stability. In 2025, Xiaomi is stepping up its game with HyperOS 3, an eagerly anticipated version of its proprietary operating system. This new software is based on Android 16 and includes numerous enhancements designed to make devices quicker, smoother, and more seamlessly interconnected. It replaces MIUI, which the company phased out at the end of 2023 in favor of this more modern and unified platform.
The rollout is scheduled for either September or October 2025 and will occur in stages, depending on the model. Xiaomi will initially update its premium smartphones before moving on to its more budget-friendly lines. The most recent models will therefore be the first to receive HyperOS 3. The update will be released in waves, meaning not all users will receive it on the same day.

Xiaomi has already released a list of the first devices that will be compatible with HyperOS 3. These primarily include its current flagship models and some upcoming releases. Here are the smartphones that will be updated first:
- Xiaomi 15
- Xiaomi 15 Pro
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra
- Xiaomi 15T Pro
- Xiaomi 14T Pro
- Redmi K70 Ultra
- Redmi K80 Ultra
- Xiaomi 16 (shipped directly with HyperOS 3)
- Xiaomi 16 Pro (also shipped directly with HyperOS 3)
HyperOS 3 will introduce various new features: smoother animations, enhanced stability, a streamlined interface, and better integration across Xiaomi products. The aim is to eliminate lag, boost performance, and ensure more uniform operation among the brand’s phones, tablets, watches, and TVs. For instance, switching from one app to another will be quicker and without stutter, even on models released last year.
