The next big mobile software update iOS 7 could release on September 10th according to an email sent by Nuance to its developers. Nuance is the company behind voice recognition and dictation on the iPhone. On Monday, the company sent an email to developers using its API to prepare for the General Availability of iOS 7.

Apple does release upcoming software updates to its partners ahead of release date however, its partners knowing the software roll out plans for general public is something that is unheard of.

In the past, Apple has released the Golden Master version of the operating system  to developers on the same day it announces next-gen iPhone. Giving enough time to developers to fine tune their apps before the update is made available to all before the launch of new iPhone.

iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are expected to be announced on September 10th and could launch to the first set of countries by September 20th with pre-booking going live about 3-4 days in advance.

iOS 7 is the biggest update since the original iPhone OS. The new update offers a completely new look to iOS devices. With the all-new control centre, multitasking and new gestures the new version of iOS will redefine Apple’s smartphones and tablets.

While iOS 7 may “shock” those who have grown to love the skeuomorphic design language of the existing iOS, overall iOS 7 makes things appear simpler and passing on the focus to the content rather than design ornamentation.

The upcoming iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C parts have been leaked by a number of sources in the recent past. Now, a video compares iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and the existing iPhone 5 to show the difference between the back panels.

Gold iPhone 5S appears to have a light gold color rather than a dark shade, the video posted by AppAdvice also shows blue color back panel of the low-cost iPhone 5C. In line with the previous rumors the iPhone 5S back panel shows dual-led flash light while the iPhone 5C shows a slightly thicker with a polycarbonate shell.

When iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S back panels are compared there is not much difference in the appearance except the flash light. While iPhone 5C is expected to be available in multiple colors which would include blue, green, red, yellow and white the front panel will remain black in color.

Rumors suggest next gen iPhone will feature a finger-print sensor under the home button and a new A7 processor that will boost the performance of the device by upto 31%. The iPhone 5C is expected to have the same hardware specification as iPhone 5 and could replace it.

In addition to the light gold iPhone we could also see graphite iPhone 5S as was reported earlier today. If these rumors turn out to be true then it is easy to conclude that Apple is certainly leaving no stone unturned to make this years iPhone another huge success. iPhone 5S is expected to unveiled at a keynote event on September 10th.

In addition to gold iPhone 5S we may also see the next-gen iPhone in ‘graphite’ color. Sonny Dickson has posted photos of the alleged new iPhone 5S back panel in graphite color.  The iPhone media event is speculated to be held on September 10th and we could see four colors of the new iPhone, white, black, gold and now graphite.

The photos show the graphite iPhone 5S back panel and the entire screen housing assembled.

Up to this point, it has widely been thought that the iPhone 5S will only come in 3 colors: Gold, Slate, and white with silver trim. According to a new images we’ve obtained, however, it appears the iPhone 5S may also come in a 4th color – a grey or graphite color with a black trim.

It is difficult to prove the authenticity of the photos however, the increased number of leaks being published by different sources could point to the existence of these new colors. Photos of volume and power buttons in gold and graphite color were also posted by mendmyi, a repair shop.

iPhone 5S is expected to feature the new A7 chip which according to reports could be 31% faster than A6. The camera could see an upgrade with dual-flash and new features powered by a new motion sensing sensor. The iPhone 5S media event is rumored to be scheduled for September 10th. Apple hasn’t sent out any media invites for the keynote event as yet.

The new iPhone 5S which is rumored to be announced on September 10th will reportedly feature A7 processor. According to a tweet by Clayton Morris of Fox News, the all-new A7 processor could be 31% faster than the previous A6 chip. This is the first time we’re hearing about the tech specs of the new A7 chip.

Morris also claims that the new iPhone 5S will support a dedicated chip for motion tracking. The new chip could be used for advanced camera software upgrades in the new hardware.

iOS 7 uses complex transparency and blur effects as an underlaying layer of the entire operating system. Updating the blurs and transparency in real time while tracking the users’ motion uses a lot of computational power. These effects have been turned off in older generation devices as noted in the beta version of iOS 7 since the older gen processors can’t handle the load.

It makes sense that Apple would launch the next gen iPhone with a faster A7 processor to handle the advanced UI techniques used in iOS 7. If the A7 indeed offers 31% speedier performance it would certainly make for a good upgrade option for iPhone 4S and even iPhone 5 users.

The new iPhone 5S is widely expected to be unveiled with a gold color option and also be available in 128GB version. Alongside iPhone 5S Apple is also expected to announce iPhone 5C release date which will be a low-cost iPhone in a plastic body with the same 4inch retina display.

Apple’s next gen iPhone, widely rumoured to be called iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, is expected to be unveiled later this fall. According to a new rumor published on WeiPhone.com, iPhone 5S will carry twice as many pixels as iPhone 5. The hardware will reportedly receive minor makeover with a narrow bezel.

According to sources, iPhone 5S (or iPhone 6) or to have a more narrow screen frame, is now preparing, will ship in September. In addition, the product also has a screen 1.5 million pixels, compared to nearly 730,000 iPhone 5 the number of pixels, if not the screen size continues to increase, the resolution will be greatly improved.

Apple could be looking at increasing the pixel density in the next iPhone which would result in a resolution of 1704 x 960 with 489 pixels per inch (PPI). This could however, pose potential issues for developers who would be forced to change the app design to fit the increased pixel density by 1.5 factor in each dimension.

The design of iPhone has remained same for two generations such as in iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Rumor posted on WeiPhone is contrary to the popular belief that iPhone 5S / 6 will retain the same design as the iPhone 5. Apple invests a huge amount in researching and developing the hardware design and could possibly look at retaining the existing design.

Apple’s next iPhone will compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy S4 which boasts a large screen of 4.99 inch and 441 pixels per inch with a Super AMOLED screen of 1920 x 1080 resolution. It is highly unlikely for Apple to introduce a new iPhone with a larger screen and it will be interesting to see how exactly does Apple plan to increased the number of pixels if this rumor indeed turns out to be true.

New photos of Apple’s upcoming iPhone, widely referred to as “iPhone 5S” have allegedly been leaked and posted online. Chinese website Zol.com.cn sourced photos of iPhone 5S and were posted by The Times of India.

Details about upcoming Apple products start appearing online as Apple’s suppliers start ramping up production. It’s possible that iPhone 5S production has reached its final stages and now internal parts of the device have surfaced online. According to a post published by Sina Tech user, 5S will retain the same form factor as sixth gen iPhone while the iPhone 6 will get a 5-inch screen.

We recently reported that Apple could be preparing the launch of the next gen iPhone 5S and follow up with the release of iPhone 6 later this year. However, it’s worth mentioning that since the last six generations of iPhone, Apple has launched only one model of its phone each year. So, it remains to be seen if the company could be looking at offering more screen sizes to its users.

The competition from Android has been heating up and Samsung has clearly been gaining substantial market share with its range of devices that offer a lot of choice and variety. Apple on the other hand continues to offer only 3.5 inch and 4 inch screen devices.

Apple is rumored to be working on the next generation iPhone, currently being called the “iPhone 5S”. According to Jeffries analyst Peter Misek, Apple is now testing two prototypes of the next gen iPhone, and will start initial builds in March in order for a early release date in June or July. Since the iPhone 4S, Apple has been releasing iPhones in the Fall, alongside or close to the iPod refresh. Now, with rumors that the Cupertino company is creating a ‘cheaper’ iPhone for emerging markets, Apple is expected to move up the iPhone debut to the June/July timeframe in order to release the new device in the Fall.

Misek claims that the iPhone to be released in June will be only an incremental upgrade, likely internal changes such as a faster A6X chip, and better cameras and that an entirely new design with a larger 4.8” screen will be seen with the next generation iPhone 6. As noted, the cheaper iPhone will likely be a more concentrated device, such as the iPad mini, which isn’t built of cheaper materials, but rather of a smaller size.

As expected, Misek believes that with reports of a “iPhone 5S” on the horizon, sales of the current iPhone 5 would slow, although he also predicts that Apple will sell 44 million iPhones in the March quarter. He also pinpointed some reasons as to why a decrease in iPhone 5 part orders does not necessarily mean a decline in demand for the product.

– An assembly bottleneck that caused component inventories to rise in the holiday quarter.
– Planning for preliminary production of the next iPhone in March.
– Demand may be either in line or “slightly below optimistic expectations

It seems that Apple will likely keep its iPhone line consistent and in line with Misek’s claims. Since the iPhone 3G, the company has always followed with an ‘S’ version, with the letter signifying a new feature. In the iPhone 3GS, it was Speed; the iPhone 4S was Siri, and the 5S will likely signify a newer feature.

Apple released the iPhone 5 several months ago, and already, reports are suggesting that a 2013 iPhone 5S / 6 and iOS 7 are beginning to appear in some developer logs. According to a report from TheNextWeb, some developers are seeing code that suggests that both a new iPhone and iOS 7 are being tested.

One developer showed us that Apple has been testing hardware relating to a new ‘iPhone6,1′ identifier, powered by a device running iOS 7, which is expected to be released by Apple in the middle part of this year.

Apple’s current flagship, the iPhone 5, bears the identifiers ‘iPhone5,1′ and ‘iPhone 5,2′ depending on the LTE model of the handset and the 4G bands on which it operates.

It is likely that the “2013 iPhone” that is referred to in the report is in fact, a resdesigned model. Apple is expected to release an “S” version of the current iPhone 5 as they have done with all other generations. However, over the past several months, the Cupertino company has been rumored to be working on a redesigned 7th generation iPhone. The report also mentioned that developers discovered that the new device found was running iOS 7.

Apple announced iOS 6 in June of 2012, and later released it to the public in October. This is likely the same timeframe that Apple will use for the new iPhone 5S and iOS 7 release, with a media event announcing both in June 2013, followed by a public release in the Fall. This would set up Apple for the holiday season of 2013, however, the device has also been rumored for release in mid-2013.

Many rumor sites are already speculating on features in iOS 7, and the next generation iPhone is expected to carry features such as Near Field Communication, updated cameras and possibly a new A7 chip. In the past, Apple has introduced an entirely new chip such as the A5 and A6 chips, followed by an A5X and A6X chips in new iPad generations. Other developers are beginning to see the next gen iPhone with iOS 7, suggesting that internal software testing has moved to advanced stage.

Following months of speculation and rumors, Apple’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller took the stage on Wednesday to introduce the long awaited iPhone 5. The media event, which was scheduled a week ago pointed to such a release and now the device has finally been revealed.

The iPhone 5, as expected has a larger 4 inch screen, and runs all pre-installed apps with a larger vertical area, and runs non-optimized third party apps letterboxed. The home screen has been stretched out a bit to hold 5 rows of apps, as opposed to 4 and the display is still the Retina Display with a 1136 x 640 resolution. The iPhone 5 now has an aspect ratio close to 16:9 now, making it great for watching widescreen movies.

iPhone 5 WhiteThe iPhone 5 now also carries faster LTE networking which will be supported by Sprint, AT&T and Verizon in the United States, Rogers, Telus, Bell, Fido, Virgin in Canada and numerous other carriers overseas. The iPhone also includes WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, and is dual-channel, up to 150Mbps, making it much faster than the iPhone 4S. All of the networking and the larger Retina Display is powered by an all new A6 chip produced by Apple.

The A6 chip is 22% smaller than its predecessor, the A5 and has a 2X faster CPU and 2x graphics compared to the A5. During the keynote, Apple invited up EA games to demo Real Racing 3, showing off new improvements in graphics performance. Other major changes include the larger, all metal and glass design leaked prior to the event, along with a relocated FaceTime camera above the earpiece. Other features include:

Battery

The larger battery in the iPhone 5 shell now allows 8 hours of 3G or LTE talk time or 10 hours on WiFi while browsing

Camera

iPhone 5 camera specs

The iPhone 5 will carry the same specs as the iPhone 4S camera but will do so in a much thinner package. It has the same 8-megapixels and a 5-element lens as the 4S but will have a Sapphire crystal lens cover for more clarity and durability. The new A6 will provide for less noise during image captures along with a “smart filter” for better color matching. Apple, as expected prior to the event will also be including Panorama imaging, capturing images at 28 megapixels in one clean sweep.

The company also updated the front facing FaceTime camera to 720P HD and backside illuminated. FaceTime is now also possible over Cellular announced during WWDC.

Audio

The iPhone now has 3 microphones, one on the front, one in front for noise cancellation, and one on the back.

Dock Connector

iPhone 5 dock connector specs

The dock connector, called Lightning, will be an all digital 8 pin design and is 80% thinner than the previous design. The Lightning charger can now be plugged in any way and does not have a designated side. There is also a converter for the new dock connector that has the ability to work with the current 30 pin connectors.

Apple’s iPhone 5, with all of its new improvements alongside iOS 6 will make this Apple’s most powerful iPhone to date. iOS 6 will be released to the public on September 19th and will ship on the new iPhone 5, and will run on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2 and iPod touch.

The iPhone 5 will be available on contract for $199 for 16GB. $299 for 32GB, $399 for 64GB respectively. The iPhone 5 will be available for Pre-Order starting Friday the 14th and will be shipping on September 21st in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. It will be arriving to 20 more countries later this month.

With Apple’s September 12th iPhone 5 keynote event scheduled for tomorrow, Apple has finished preparing the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts where the event will be held. Apple has had held numerous other keynote events at the San Francisco based arts center and is doing the same to announce the sixth gen iPhone.

The colorful graphics are generally put onto the glass with an Apple logo centered in the middle of the exterior and generally signifies something about the product being released. This design appears to show stretched app icons of all different colors, interlaced with each other, and running straight down from top to bottom. The colors come together to form one larger tapestry of colors.

Although the iPhone 5 is expected at this event and will only arrive in black and white, this can possibly represent the content that will be available on the device, the larger screen on the iPhne 5 or perhaps the introduction of a new iPod touch, iPod nano, or a new line of iPods that can come in different colors. The next gen iPhone is widely believed to to feature 4G /LTE network, faster processor, possibly a bigger battery and 16:9 screen aspect ratio.

The event is scheduled for September 12th, 2012 and will go live at 10AM PT/ 1PM ET. Touch Reviews will be bringing you an all-in-one live feed tomorrow.

Late last month, iResQ released images of the flex cables for the iPhone 5 as well as for the upcoming iPad Mini.

The latest images appears to be a fully assembled model, missing the logic board and a few other pieces. With the device fully assembled, it is clear that the iPhone 5 is substantially thinner than the iPhone 4S and appears to be different in design, particularly with the glass flushed with the metal band, unlike the 2 “sandwiched” pieces of glass on the 4S.

Details about the upcoming iPhone 5 have been steadily leaked online over the past several months, including rumors about the iPhone 5 charger and cases. On Saturday, Japanese site Tinhte.vn posted a video of what they claim to be the headphones for the next gen iPhone 5, which is expected to be announced within the next two weeks.

Translation of the video which explains the details about the headphones goes as follows:

In my hands are the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out – Apple’s next generation of iPod [sic]. These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse’s head, not like earbuds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit – there’s no part that looks like it would come apart – not like earbuds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products. Here I have the old earphones for comparison. The new ones are much smaller; when they are worn, they do not hurt the way earbuds do. You can see on the old ones the surface is a separate part that looks like it can be detached – not like the small surface of the new one. The old earphones were mostly made in China, with some in Vietnam. But the new ones are clearly made in Vietnam. (Reading from the wires): “Designed by Apple in California, assembled in Vietnam.”

Tinhte notes in the video that the headphones are being assembled at a Foxconn plant in Vietnam and even posts an image of the cable, which supports the claim. In the past, Apple headphones have been assembled in China, and displays the words “Made in China” on the cable.

Tinhte has a proven track record, previously obtaining a prototype of the iPhone 4 prior to release, and only several weeks after the model obtained by Gizmodo. In their blog post, Tinhte also notes that these headphones may in fact be genuine and not fake:

All factors such as design, quality finishing materials fabricated wire, plastic body headphones are led to the conclusion this is genuine and not counterfeit headphones.

Apple’s next generation iPhone is expected to be announced at a keynote event on September 12th and released on September 21st. The iPhone 5 is also expected to have a larger 4 inch screen, a redesigned dock connector, and an entirely new unibody outer shell.

Apple’s highly anticipated sixth-gen iPhone, widely referred to as iPhone 5 is expected to be introduced this month at a media event on September 12th. ‘iPhone 5′ rumors have been around even before iPhone 4S was introduced as many expected Apple’s fifth-gen iPhone to be called iPhone 5.

In the recent months the rumors and leaks surrounding iPhone 5 have made Apple’s unannounced device already seem like a “reality”. We’ve been reporting on the leaked images of iPhone 5 parts and the rumors about the large 4 inch display. As the release date comes near we’ve seen photos of nearly the entire iPhone 5 assembly. However, with just 12 days to go now we’re seeing prototypes of the iPhone 5 design based on earlier rumors and leaks.

Accessory manufactures are often able to gather information and specification of Apple’s next gen devices. In order to benefit from first mover advantage they manufacture the accessories in advance to have them available in the market on launch day. At IFA 2012 one such iPhone case maker showcased cases for iPhone 5 using a fully-assembled ‘iPhone 5′ prototype. A video was posted by GSM Israel that shows the prototype to be based on earlier leaks and rumors.

If you thought that looked real, MacRumors has posted a video that shows the 4-inch iPhone 5 in action. The video draws a parallel between the 3.5 inch screen of iPhone 4S and 4-inch screen of the sixth gen iPhone. Larger screen with a resolution of 1136×640 you’ll be able to view a taller home screen with more apps visible at once and more apps in one folder. Updated apps and games will be able to make use of wide display while the apps that are not updated may be kept inside black border.

According to the rumors so far, next gen iPhone will not feature a radically new design, but offer slightly different visual look from the back. Apple’s metal band design that houses the antenna’s was introduced as a breakthrough design when Steve Jobs announced the iPhone 4 and even after almost three years it still looks far more high-end when compared with other smartphones that adopt a design using plastic or a variation of it.

Apple’s new iPhone is also rumored to support A6 chip as opposed to earlier belief that the company will include A5X chip that made its way in the new iPad. With a larger screen, faster chip and a new design will Apple be able to report another blockbuster opening week? If the design leaks turn out to be true will you buy the new iPhone? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Details of Apple’s next generation iPhone 5 appear to be spreading across the web, and now in Chinese newspapers as well. Earlier in the week, Apple.pro posted images of a story in Chinese-language newspaper Apple Daily. The newspaper reportedly obtained one of the many iPhone 5 enclosures floating around and measured the specs. In the report, the iPhone 5 was reported to be 7.6mm thick, down from the iPhone 4S’ current 9.3mm thickness.

This means that the next generation iPhone 5 could be 18% thinner than the iPhone 4S and drastically thinner than any other model in the past. Apple was likely able to achieve this new depth because of the change in screen size, moving up from 3.5 inches to 4 inches. However, the width of the next gen iPhone is expected to remain the same as the 4S.

Apple Daily also posted some higher quality images following its initial report which seem to show a great amount of change in the iPhone enclosure as well as the previously rumored, smaller dock connector, and altered speaker port and headphone jack. Rumors that Apple was looking to introduce a smaller dock connector in the next generation iPhone 5 have been around on the web for several months now. However, in the last several weeks, numerous leaked images of the iPhone 5 enclosure suggest that a smaller dock connector and charger will make it to the final product design.

Late last week, several images of the alleged mini dock connector surfaced online, posted by French site Nowherelse.fr, all but confirming that the next gen iPhone 5 will be carrying a 9 pin dock connector that strangely resembles the USB stick provided with Macbooks for reinstalling OS X. This would mean that the 30 pin dock connector, introduced with the original iPod over 10 years ago would now be replaced with smaller and thinner technology. According to recent reports, the new dock connector will likely improve I/O connectivity, allowing the transfer of data in a much shorter time with less electrical contacts than the 30 pin connector.

Sources have also reiterated claims that the charger now has the ability to plug into the iPhone on any side and does not have one designated orientation. It has been said that this new mini dock connector is much like a MacBook’s Mag-Safe connector, allowing users to insert any side of the charger into the device. Although other variations of the connector have been specualted about, ranging from 16 to 19 pins, 9 pins appears to be accurate and likely the version Apple will release next month.

So as not to cause a major rift in its iOS line-up, Apple is expected to provide users with an adaptor to connect to the current 30 pin connector as well. The iPhone 5 is slated for announcement next month on September 12th, alongside the public release of iOS 6.

Apple’s next generation iPhone 5  is expected to be releases later this fall and numerous news reports and images spreading across the web suggest that the announcement is imminent.

On Monday, a report from AppleInsider speculated that Apple is in fact already working on accessories for the upcoming iPhone 5 release. The report mentions that the first case is likely a Bumper case, which was introduced with the iPhone 4 and would likely be adjusted to fit the larger 4 inch screen of the next gen iPhone.

However, the second case is reportedly a new and different design and is said to have “major impact on the accessory market.”. iLounge reported that while the case would disrupt third party case makers, the design would not be “hugely surprising”. Further speculation suggests there may even be a kickstand included in the case, as seen in some third party cases available for the iPhone 4S.

Early Monday, a report from iMore suggested that Apple’s sixth generation iPhone, as well as the rumored iPad Mini and perhaps even a new 5th gen iPod touch would be announced on September 12th. Apple announced availability of the Bumper case on the same day as the iPhone release, and released the Smart Cover on the release day of the iPad 2, so it is very likely that this iPhone 5 release would follow suit.

The next generation iPhone, being called the “iPhone 5” is expected to sport a larger 4 inch display, a smaller dock connector, as well as other minor changes including placement of headphone jack and FaceTime camera. The iPhone 5 is expected to be released alongside the public release of iOS 6.

Apple’s next generation iPhone 5 has been the target of intense speculation over the past several months, however no solid evidence that an iPhone 5 even existed was available. But, over the past several weeks, parts of what appears to be a next gen iPhone 5 have appeared in images and videos across the web. The parts and rumors suggest that Apple’s new iPhone will have a taller screen, a smaller dock connector, and several other design changes.

On Sunday, Japanese site iLab posted images, released by CydiaBlog, of a fully assembled iPhone 5 hardware, in line with rumors of the new design. The site alleges that these photos are of the next generation iPhone, expected for release during September. Cydiablog offered their thoughts on the images with the following:

The leaked parts shows the bigger screen, different internals (such as a new flex cable holding the Home button in place), and the camera modules (front and rear). The camera module cutout looks to be larger, there is an enhanced version of speaker and microphone configuration at the bottom, new smaller dock connector (instead of 30-pin Dock Connector, 16-pin connector could be introduced). Another notable design change in the new iPhone front panel shows the FaceTime camera has been moved to a centered position above the earpiece speaker (it is currently to left of the earpiece in iPhone 4S and iPhone 4).

The images appear to confirm that the next generation iPhone would have a unibody back plate, unlike the current iPhone 4S which houses the internals in between two pieces of tempered glass as well as a screen with a higher length and same width. The next generation iPhone is expected to be released later this fall, alongside the public release of iOS 6.

According to a report from The Financial Times, European carriers are stocking up on nano-SIM cards ahead of Apple’s next gen iPhone 5 release date. The carriers are purchasing the SIMs ahead of any statements or confirmation from Apple if this new standard will be adopted. Earlier this year, many reports online suggested that the European Telecommunications Standards Institute selected Apple’s nano SIM technology as the new 4FF standard.

Videos and images of what appeared to be the next generation iPhone 5 also began to appear around this time, all showing a smaller SIM card slot, which may also suggest that come October, carriers will have to adjust the size of their SIM cards to match the new standard. Financial Time’s report suggests that the Nano-SIMs purchased by the European carriers are in fact for the iPhone  5 and are in line with Apple’s nano SIM standard.

Operators expect that the iPhone will feature the nano sim in a slimmed down design, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation, and have begun to store millions of the cards in warehouses in anticipation of high demand for Apple’s iPhone. Apple declined to comment.

The report also suggested that the carriers are looking to avoid being surprised by a new standard by Apple, as with the SIM standard on both the iPhone 4 and the iPad, both which used a micro SIM standard.

Operators were caught off guard by the adoption of the micro Sim for the iPhone 4 as well as the original iPad two years ago, with some struggling to meet demand with their own micro-Sims in the first weeks of sale…. One informed person said that the major networks were keen to be ahead of demand this time, however. He added that the iPhone 5 was likely to be similar sized as the iPhone 4 although slimmer and with a fully metal body.

Apple’s change of SIM standards over the years match with the Cupertino company’s design direction, which is to always make products thinner, lighter and more durable. With the new nano SIM and smaller dock connector, the next generation iPhone is expected to be much thinner than the current iPhone 4S.

Apple’s next generation iPhone, being called the ‘iPhone 5′ has been rumored to be in the works. In recent weeks, parts of what appears to be the next generation iPhone 5 have appeared online, including a metal back cover which seemed to justify rumors that the next iPhone will have a larger screen and a smaller dock connector.

On Thursday, a report from Reuters mentioned that Chinese vendors have begun to take orders for an ‘iPhone 5’, parts of which may be created entire from speculation with no specs or announcements from Apple.

Sellers on Taobao, a unit of Alibaba Group, are accepting orders for the iPhone 5, in some cases asking for a deposit of 1,000 yuan ($160) for the new phone. One seller, “Dahai99888″, who started accepting pre-orders this week, is asking for full payment upfront, at a cool 6,999 yuan ($1,100).

Taobao sellers that Reuters spoke with said they planned to buy the iPhone 5 in Hong Kong or the United States and then bring it to mainland China. Apple products are often available in Hong Kong before they are released on the mainland.

Chinese vendors often create models, and prototype devices based on rumors on the web of what an upcoming Apple product may look like. The report also focuses on similar vendors selling cases for the purported ‘iPhone 5’, which may also have been created based on speculation. Case vendors have been wrong in the past about iPhone’s design, more specifically the rumored tapered design.

Images of the claimed next generation iPhone 5 posted by KitGuru show iPhone design consistent with rumors on the web, including the elongated body, smaller dock connector, new speaker grill, and a headphone jack located at the bottom. Although the photos may appear to be genuine, the rough and unfinished body of the device, as well as the absence of an LCD display show that this may, in fact be a physical mockup based on previous rumors. KitGuru did not specify as to where the images came from, but mentioned that it was seen “in the Far East”.

Numerous parts for the upcoming iPhone 5 have been found, but it is unclear whether many of these claims are genuine, especially when considering that some Chinese vendors and casemakers have been wrong in the past. Apple’s next generation iPhone is expected to be released in October, along with the rumored iPad Mini and the final version of iOS 6.

Apple’s rumored 7 inch iPad has been trending on the web since late last year, and now details about the device are beginning to emerge. Japanese site Macotakara reported late last week that Apple is slowly beginning to ramp up production of the 7.85” iPad mini at its Foxconn location in Brazil. The source also mentions that the tablet will, in fact be called the iPad Mini and that production tests on new cutting machines have already been done in China.

Source said that, production phase of this tablet will be started since September, and this tablet should be shipped until holiday season, but announcement will not be so soon.

The smaller version of the tablet has been reported to have 3G capabilities, but will likely be set up similar to the current iPad, with both WiFi and 3G versions available. Other details about the device remain unclear, and may appear as the announcement date gets closer. The iPad Mini would be competing with other smaller tablets on the market such as the Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7.

The iPad Mini is expected to be thinner than the Kindle Fire, and will likely adopt an almost identical, albeit smaller design. According to Bloomberg, Apple is expected to release the iPad Mini later this year, during the same October timeframe as the next gen iPhone 5 and the public release of iOS 6.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) recently updated its ‘investor relations’ webpage to announce that the company will conduct a conference to discuss  Q3 FY12 Earnings on July 24. The live conference call will be held at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern time. The call will later be available for streaming via QuickTime through Apple’s website.

AAPL has been reporting record quarters each year with sales of iPhone on the rise and outstanding sales figures of its tablet computer. During last quarter Apple Inc. reported revenue of $39.2 billion and quarterly net profit of $11.6 billion. The company sold 35.1 million iPhones, 11.8 million iPads, 4 million Macs, and 7.7 million iPods in the quarter representing 88% growth for iPhone sales and 151 percent increase for the iPad.

Apple’s CFO, Peter Oppenheimer, during the end of the conference call added,  “Looking ahead to the third fiscal quarter, we expect revenue of about $34 billion and diluted earnings per share of about $8.68.”

The third quarter revenue hasn’t seen introduction of any new hardware while on the other hand iPhone sales are expected to slow down as users anticipate the launch of next gen iPhone 5. However, the new iPad 3 has been added to a number of new countries and the Cupertino based company is expected to report impressive sales figures for its tablet computer.

Moving forward Apple is expected to see higher growth in its Mac hardware products as with the introduction of MacBook Pro with Retina Display the company has shown its commitment to remain aggressive in the notebook business. The availability of MacBook Pro with retina display on Apple’s online store moved up to 3-4 weeks shipping time shortly after its release suggesting fast adoption rate among users. Although, Apple hasn’t released any public sales figures for the next gen MacBook Pro.

Apple’s upcoming software releases for OS X and iOS are also worth mentioning as the OS of both the platforms continue to merge. Mountain Lion for OS X will be made available to users later this month exclusively from Mac App Store and iOS 6 is expected to be made available later this fall.

Apple is expected to release its next iPhone 5 later this year, and a number of reports have suggested that the screen is going to be made taller to accommodate up to 4 inches. These rumors were entirely speculative until a recent report from japanese site Macotakara, which posted images and a video showing what appears to a taller iPhone 5 screen, with an overall design that looks very similar to the current iPhone 4S screen. The front panel also had a relocated FaceTime camera, now above the earpiece of the iPhone and centered on the device, similar to the iPod touch.

This is the first time that a part capable of being for the next gen iPhone 5 has surfaced and is likely not only taller, but from the images, wider as well. With iOS 6, Apple will likely expand the existing apps on the App Store, in order to fit the new screen size without compromising the number of pixels per inch. Earlier in the month, reports that Apple was purchasing 4 inch screens from a number of suppliers surfaced. Suppliers included LG Display, Sharp, and Japan Display Inc., which also supply Apple with screens for a number of its other iOS products.

The iPhone’s screen size has remained the same since the introduction of the original iPhone in 2007, only experiencing a major change during the release of the Retina Display. This would be the first time that Apple would change the 3.5 inch display in any way, and it appears in good fashion too, making it much taller than the current display. Apple has not changed the width, and has emphasized in the past that this would cause issues with resolution and users being able to text with one hand.

Apple’s next gen iPhone 5 is expected to be released during the same October timeframe as the iPhone 4S and will likely be released alongside iOS 6 after a developer preview of the new software during Apple’s WWDC conference from June 11-15.

According to a new report published by Bloomberg, iPhone 5, Apple’s sixth-gen iPhone was one of the last product designs Steve Jobs worked on. Apple’s iPhone hasn’t seen any major redesign since the introduction of iPhone 4. So, it’s not difficult to imagine that the company would have started working on iPhone 5 design just as iPhone 4 was being launched.

When Steve Jobs took medical leave in January 2011 to focus on his health, in an internal memo to Apple employees he specifically mentioned, “I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.” The report published by Bloomberg cites people familiar with the matter who claim that “Apple co-founder Steve Jobs had worked closely on the redesigned phone before his death in October”.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that Jony Ive, Apple’s design guru, in an interview had mentioned that Apple’s secret design lab has “future for the next three years,”.

Considering the fact that Steve Jobs was still involved in major strategic decisions for Apple and the fact that iPhone 4  and iPhone 4S design remained almost the same it seems that iPhone 5 may very well be one of the “strategic” ideas Jobs was closely associated with.

The rumor mill is abuzz with news about the next gen iPhone 5 featuring 3.9 inch display with increased pixels and also include the next gen 4G networking. Even though 4-inch iPod touch display panels have been leaked on the internet it’s unclear if Apple will increase the size of the complete device or just increase the size of the display while still retaining the overall form factor and dimensions.

The current trend in the smartphone market seems to be to offer larger screen size phones however, Apple with its vision to maintain a streamlined product lineup has offered both iPhone and iPod touch in just one option i.e 3.5 inch display.

Apple is expected to unveil the sixth gen iPhone in October during a special media event. The new iPhone is also rumored to feature better cameras and faster processor with quad-core graphics chip.

According to the latest iPhone 5 rumors, Apple is testing more than one prototypes of the next-gen iPhone. The sixth gen iPhone is expected to see major re-design and feature a taller display.

Apple introduced the original iPhone in 2007 with a 3.5 inch screen and that has remained unchanged over last 5 years. However, now it seems that the company might be ready to give the display a complete makeover and introduce iPhone 5 with 3.9 inch display. According to a report published by 9to5 Mac, Apple is testing multiple prototypes of the next gen iPhone that are locked in shells to avoid discovery by unauthorized personnel.

We know of two next-generation iPhones in testing with a larger display: the iPhone 5,1 and iPhone 5,2. These phones are in the PreEVT stage of development and are codenamed N41AP (5,1) and N42AP (5,2).

The new iPhone will reportedly not just feature a taller display but will also increase the resolution from 640×940 to 1136×640.

That’s an extra 176 pixels longer of a display.  The screen will be the same 1.94 inches wide, but will grow to 3.45 inches tall. This new resolution is very close to a 16:9 screen ratio, so this means that 16:9 videos can play full screen at their native aspect ratio.

The report further mentions that custom-built iOS 6 software is being tested in the iPhone 5 prototypes that takes full advantage of the taller and wider screen by adding a fifth row of app icons to the home screen.

In addition to the display changes, the sixth gen iPhone will continue to include the home button but, could possibly feature smaller dock connector. iPhone 5 is widely rumored to be released in October during a special Apple event.

On Wednesday, a report from The Wall Street Journal revealed that Apple is ordering 4 inch screens for the next generation iPhone 5. The screens have been reported to measure 4-inch diagonally, meaning that the width of the phone would not change, instead it would become taller.

A mockup of the possible next generation iPhone 5 was released earlier last week, and has gained lots of attention (image above). Every model released since the introduction of the original iPhone in 2007 had the same 3.5 inch diagonal widescreen display. This would be the first time that the screen would change.

Apple Inc., which is expected to launch its next-generation iPhone later this year, has ordered screens from its Asian suppliers that are bigger than the ones used in iPhones since they debuted in 2007, people familiar with the situation said.

Production is set to begin next month for the screens, which measure at least 4 inches diagonally compared with 3.5 inches on the iPhone 4S, the latest phone from Apple, the people said.

As with all previous generations of the iPhone, Apple has worked with outside companies on the display. The new 4 inch display for iPhone 5 is going to be created from a collaboration with LG, Sharp, and Japan Display.

Japan Display is a combination of Sony, Hitachi, and Toshiba, all native Japanese companies. Following the report from The Wall Street Journal, Reuters released their own report backing claims of Apple ordering 4 inch screens.

Apple Inc plans to use a larger screen on the next-generation iPhone and has begun to place orders for the new displays from suppliers in South Korea and Japan, people familiar with the situation said on Wednesday. […]

The next generation iPhone 5 release date is expected to be announced during the same October timeframe as the iPhone 4S.
