New Feature in iOS 27.2 Beta Simplifies App Data Transfer for Developers
The latest beta release of iOS 27.2, which rolled out last night, introduces an innovative feature aimed at developers, as highlighted by 9To5Mac. This upcoming update includes a functionality that facilitates the transfer of data and settings—including notification preferences and focus modes—from an old application to a new one intended to replace it. When installing the new app, a prompt appears, giving users the option to either transfer their existing data and settings or start afresh. This process also involves the automatic removal of the old application.

Limited to Single Developer Applications
This feature is exclusively available for applications from the same developer. Although it’s uncommon for developers to replace an app entirely, those looking to start with a clean slate will soon find this process more streamlined for their users. The official release of iOS 27.2 is scheduled for the end of October.
