Apple is refining iOS 26 with its third beta release, which introduces new wallpaper options and enhances certain visual effects. iPhone enthusiasts can get a glimpse of the upcoming major updates.
Every year, Apple fine-tunes its mobile operating system prior to the official release. These beta versions are critical for testing new features and fixing issues identified by developers. They also provide a preview of aesthetic changes and enhancements planned for the upcoming months.
The third beta of iOS 26 is now available to developers. Released two weeks after the previous iteration, this version brings several visual enhancements. Among the notable changes, Apple has introduced new color options for the default wallpaper and increased the blur effect in certain menus. This update aligns with the new Liquid Glass visual language, which moves away from the flat design of previous versions.
iOS 26 Beta 3 Adds Three Wallpaper Colors and Enhances Interface Blur
This update adds three new variants to the default wallpaper: Dusk, Halo, and Shadow. The original version, now called Sky, primarily featured blue hues. The Dusk variant incorporates a mix of pink and violet, providing a softer and more unique touch. These backgrounds respond to phone movements, creating a sense of depth via Liquid Glass elements. Simultaneously, Apple has tweaked the interface’s blur effect, making areas like the Control Center and the tab bar appear frostier and more contemporary.

The third beta of iOS 26 also addresses a minor alignment issue with icons in the Dock. Icons now remain centered even when there are fewer than four. The icons for the Photos and Files apps have also been subtly revised. On the iPad side, Apple has introduced a feature to make the cursor more noticeable, which enlarges when quickly shaken, similar to macOS. While this beta doesn’t introduce major features, it sets the stage for future innovations. The company is expected to continue releasing versions weekly or biweekly until the final launch.
