In this vein, Google is developing a new feature called Magic Cue, which was spotted in a test version of Android by Android Authority. This assistant uses what’s displayed on the screen to offer timely information or actions. It is expected to debut with the release of the Pixel 10, whose design has already been leaked on the Play Store.

Magic Cue operates directly on the device. It scrutinizes open apps, data visible on the screen, and certain local information from Gmail, Chrome, YouTube, and Google Docs to save users time with targeted actions. For instance, if a friend asks for a flight number, it can retrieve this from your emails without you having to type anything.

Code found in the latest Canary version of Android includes an alert titled “Get useful suggestions”. This notifies users that the AI uses context to provide assistance. By pressing and holding on the alert, users might be able to access the settings for Magic Cue. This assistant shares several features with Pixel Sense, another AI function that Google has been testing for months.

The integration of these tools into Android suggests that Google is aiming for a smoother, more proactive user experience. Regardless of what these features are ultimately named, they are expected to be integrated by default into the Pixel 10, which is set to launch in less than three weeks.
