Transferring Files from Your PC to Your Android Device
To move files between a Windows computer and an Android device, you first need to download the Your Phone app on your phone. This app is freely available on the Play Store. Then, follow the steps below:
- Select the desired file and right-click it,
- Click on Share,
- Press the three dots at the top right of the new window that opens, then click on More apps,
- Now select Phone Link,
- Log in with a valid Microsoft account,
- Scan the QR code displayed on your PC and then enter the 6-character code on the mobile app Your Phone,
- Once your devices are connected, you will receive a notification on your phone to view and download the transferred file. Once downloaded, you can find the document in Files, then Downloads on your Android device.
You will only need to log into your Windows account the first time you use it, and then once every 90 days. For the process to work, both of your devices need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network. If not, you will need to sync them using your phone’s mobile data. Be aware, this could incur additional charges.
