Transfert Windows Android

Here are the steps for efficiently transferring multimedia files from a Windows device to an Android phone.

An App to Connect Your PC and Smartphone

Windows offers two applications designed to streamline the synchronization between your PC and your phone. Known as Your Phone on Android and Phone Link on PC, these apps provide an interface for easily managing your devices. From your PC, the applications allow you to:

  • Make and receive calls,
  • Send text messages,
  • Share links to your phone,
  • Transfer multimedia files (PDF, JPG, MP3, MP4, etc.),
  • Receive and handle your notifications.

Transferring Files from Your PC to Your Android Device

To move files between a Windows computer and an Android device, you first need to download the Your Phone app on your phone. This app is freely available on the Play Store. Then, follow the steps below:

  • Select the desired file and right-click it,
  • Click on Share,
  • Press the three dots at the top right of the new window that opens, then click on More apps,
  • Now select Phone Link,
  • Log in with a valid Microsoft account,
  • Scan the QR code displayed on your PC and then enter the 6-character code on the mobile app Your Phone,
  • Once your devices are connected, you will receive a notification on your phone to view and download the transferred file. Once downloaded, you can find the document in Files, then Downloads on your Android device.

You will only need to log into your Windows account the first time you use it, and then once every 90 days. For the process to work, both of your devices need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network. If not, you will need to sync them using your phone’s mobile data. Be aware, this could incur additional charges.

For the reverse procedure, just follow these instructions!
