ChatGPT Pulse BDM

Every morning, Pulse offers a set of personalized cards featuring news, reminders, and practical tips, designed to make ChatGPT a part of your daily routine.

For some users, interacting with ChatGPT has become second nature. More than just an occasional tool or novelty, OpenAI’s chatbot has emerged as a daily assistant for many, capable of deciphering bureaucratic documents, summarizing news items, or answering general knowledge questions, positioning itself as an alternative to Google.

OpenAI is pleased with this development and aims to make its flagship product a daily habit. This is the driving force behind the launch of Pulse, which is designed to be the first port of call for users even before their morning coffee. Here’s more on that.

ChatGPT Pulse: Your Customized Morning Briefing

Pulse acts as a daily appointment with ChatGPT. Each night, the tool analyzes the user’s preferences, conversation history, and, if permitted, connected applications like Gmail or Google Calendar. Upon waking, it presents five to ten concise cards, or “cards,” that aggregate the most relevant information.

The cards come in various formats: a summary of articles on a frequently followed topic, dinner suggestions, travel route ideas, or schedule reminders. Users can delve deeper into any topic by opening the corresponding card, request additional details, or simply move on. Each update is available for that day only, unless the user opts to save it.

Pulse is also intentionally limited in scope. Unlike news feeds or social media platforms, it doesn’t aim to capture attention indefinitely. Once the day’s information is delivered, the app displays a closing message: “That’s all for today.” Users can refine the system by providing feedback on the cards received, or even by explicitly requesting specific content for the following day. Over time, the suggestions become more tailored and relevant through this incremental personalization.

An Exclusively Premium Feature

Currently, Pulse is only available on mobile devices and to subscribers of the Pro plan, which costs $200 per month. This pricing strategy appears not to be dictated by the nature of the feature itself, as it could be just as useful for everyday tasks as it is for professional goals. Rather, this choice may be driven by the significant amount of resources required to generate these daily reports.

You can also connect Gmail and Google Calendar to gain additional context and more targeted suggestions. When Calendar is connected, ChatGPT can create a sample meeting agenda, remind you to buy a birthday gift, or suggest restaurant recommendations for an upcoming trip, as illustrated by OpenAI.

OpenAI intends to enhance the efficiency of Pulse before expanding access, initially to Plus subscribers and eventually to all users. Ultimately, OpenAI’s goal is to develop “AI systems capable of researching, planning, and taking useful actions on your behalf, as per your instructions, so that you can make progress even without asking for it”, ensuring that ChatGPT assists you from dawn till dusk.
