L'Apple Manufacturing Academy ouvrira ses portes à Detroit en août
In February, Apple declared a massive investment of $500 billion in the United States, which includes establishing an academy for training workers specialized in high-tech product manufacturing and the integration of AI into production lines. Named the Apple Manufacturing Academy, it is set to be located in Detroit and will open its doors on August 19, as Apple announced today via a press release. “We are excited to welcome businesses from across the country to the Apple Manufacturing Academy starting next month,” said Sabih Khan, Apple’s newly appointed COO following Jeff Williams’ departure earlier this month.

This presents an opportunity to delve a little deeper into the objectives of this academy, which will launch in partnership with Michigan State University. Apple states that this program is designed “to further assist companies in implementing smart manufacturing so they can capitalize on exceptional opportunities for themselves and our country.” A dedicated website has been launched, and American SMEs are already able to register.

Starting August 19, in collaboration with Michigan State University, Apple will host SMEs from across the nation in Detroit for various workshops led by Apple experts. These workshops are aimed at helping American companies transition to advanced manufacturing through the use of artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing techniques.

The sessions will cover machine learning and deep learning in manufacturing; automation in product manufacturing; leveraging manufacturing data to enhance product quality; applying digital technologies to optimize operations; and much more.

In addition to in-person training, Apple engineers are already advising American companies on how to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality in their supply chains. Consulting services are available both online and in-person.

Later this year, the academy will also offer virtual training sessions, featuring a skill development program that will teach workers essential skills such as project management and manufacturing process optimization.
