Blockbuster “F1” Surpasses $500 Million at the Box Office
The movie F1 has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing the $500 million mark in box office revenue this past weekend, according to CNBC. Since its debut just over four weeks ago, the film has amassed a total of $509 million. This sets a new record for Apple Studios, marking its most significant cinematic success to date. Previously, the highest-grossing film produced by Apple was “Napoleon,” which collected $221 million. The production costs for F1 exceeded $250 million, with an additional $100 million spent on marketing. Additionally, Apple shares distribution rights with Warner Bros.
Potential Streaming Release on Apple TV+
As of now, Apple has not made any announcements regarding the streaming release of F1 on its platform, Apple TV+. It is anticipated that the film might be available for streaming this fall. However, viewers in France will have to wait longer due to the country’s media chronology laws, which require a 17-month delay. Encouraged by the film’s success, Apple is reportedly positioning itself to secure broadcasting rights for Formula 1 racing in the United States starting from the next season.
