The “Traqués” Series Faces Unexpected Delays on Apple TV
The anticipated release of the series Traqués on Apple TV has been postponed. Originally scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, December 3, the show was abruptly removed from the platform’s promotional materials last week. This decision came after it was revealed that the series’ director and writer, Cédric Anger, had heavily drawn inspiration from an existing work, Douglas Fairbain’s 1973 novel Shoot, which was also adapted into a film in 1976.

Apple, which has reportedly invested $16 million in the production of the series, has found itself in a challenging position. The company is now seeking to purchase the rights from the heirs of Douglas Fairbain, who passed away in 1997. According to Clément Garin, Apple is dealing with an unforeseen complication: the novel is no longer available in the publisher’s catalog, and the heirs seem to be untraceable. In an effort to resolve this issue, Apple has even hired a private detective to locate the rightful heirs. A potential heir, an 85-year-old man, has been identified but remains unreachable. This situation could itself be the plot for a new drama series.
