Apple’s Integrated Health and Fitness Subscription Plans

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is considering combining its existing Apple Fitness+ service with an upcoming health coaching service, potentially named Apple Health+, into a single subscription offering. This move comes as Apple looks to attract a broader audience due to the less-than-expected subscriber numbers for Apple Fitness+. Initially launched in English-speaking countries in December 2020 and later in France and other nations in November 2021, Apple Fitness+ offers subtitles in various languages including French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Despite its global availability, the service has not yet reached a subscriber base large enough to justify hiring international trainers. Currently, the subscription costs €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year.

The Upcoming Apple Health+ Service

The final name for the upcoming Apple Health+ service is still uncertain. The service is expected to leverage extensive data from the Apple Health app, which is analyzed using Apple’s advanced algorithms. The aim is to provide personalized health recommendations covering various aspects such as medical health, fitness, diet, and sleep. Apple Health+ plans to offer automated suggestions tailored to individual needs, supplemented by expert videos that provide deeper insights and guidance in each area. This new service is anticipated to be introduced at the next WWDC in June 2026, with plans for integration into iOS 27 set for release in September of the same year.
