Apple Introduces New Features to Apple Fitness+
Today, Apple has unveiled several updates to Apple Fitness+ in a press release. Among these is a new challenge that awards a badge for closing the three activity rings for seven consecutive days in January. Additionally, for the first time, there’s a special badge for Strava users who log 12 workout sessions throughout the month. The announcement also highlights upcoming music-themed workouts featuring KAROL G in January and Bad Bunny in February. Furthermore, the “Walk or Run” series will feature appearances by Penn Badgley, Mel B, and Michelle Monaghan.
New Multi-Week Program Series Launched
Apple is also launching a new series of multi-week programs designed to help users maintain motivation and consistency in their fitness routines at the start of the year. For those looking to restart their fitness journey, the “Get Back to Fitness” program offers three popular types of workouts: strength training, HIIT, and yoga. This four-week program includes three sessions each week (one of each type) that are only 10 minutes long. There is also a new four-week yoga program, which features two 10-minute sequences each week (one slow and one dynamic) to complement regular workouts. Additionally, there is a three-week program consisting of three 20-minute sessions per week, combining 10 minutes of strength training with 10 minutes of HIIT.
Anticipation for a Major Launch
Earlier this week, Apple Fitness+ released a video teasing that “something big is coming to Apple Fitness+.” However, the updates announced today seem rather standard for the beginning of the year. A more ambitious update is expected by summer with the launch of Apple Health+, a health coaching feature using AI to provide recommendations aimed at improving health from medical, fitness, nutritional, and sleep perspectives. This new feature could be part of the Apple Fitness+ subscription, which costs 9.99€ per month or 79.99€ per year.
