Adobe continues to expand its use of AI technology. Following its ventures into enhancing presentations and podcasts in late January, the company is further developing its video capabilities with a new editing tool named Quick Cut. This tool aims to enable professionals without technical skills to quickly produce high-quality content while minimizing the time spent on tedious tasks.
Quick Cut: Adobe’s AI Creates Edits in Seconds
Quick Cut is a new feature integrated within Adobe Firefly’s video editor. It allows creators to swiftly transform a series of clips into a structured initial edit without the need for traditional manual assembly.
Users can upload their own footage or generate new clips using AI, and then briefly describe the video’s purpose, such as an interview, product demonstration, or vlog. Based on this description, Firefly constructs an organized first draft that follows a narrative logic. Users can further refine the output by providing a shot list or a script to more precisely guide the outcome. Several settings can be adjusted beforehand, such as image format, pacing, or adding a B-roll track to better structure the illustrative shots.

The tool is designed as a starting point. It allows for experimentation with different creative directions, the incorporation of transformed images into video, and further adjustments within the timeline such as pace modification, element replacement, narrative tightening, and refining the final version.
How to Access Adobe’s Quick Cut
Adobe targets Quick Cut primarily at content creators who frequently produce videos but may not necessarily have advanced editing skills. This includes podcasters, journalists, marketing teams, product reviewers, and entrepreneurs.
Accessing the feature requires a Firefly account. Full video generation capabilities, as well as a temporary offer of unlimited image and video generations up to 2K resolution, are available to subscribers of paid plans (Pro, Premium, and some credit-based plans).
