Since February 2025, Firefly’s video generator has been available to the general public. This tool allows users to create short video clips from an image or a simple text prompt. As of Thursday, July 17, 2025, the generator has been enhanced with new models and unique features. Here’s an overview!
New Models in Firefly, Including Google’s Veo
Firefly has upgraded its video generator by incorporating several new models from various partners. These include Google’s Veo 3, now with audio compatibility, as well as Moonvalley’s Marey, Runway’s Gen-4, Luma AI’s Ray2, and the upscaling tools from Topaz Labs. These additions join the existing models in the Firefly ecosystem, such as those from OpenAI, Pika, and Ideogram.
Adobe aims to give creators more aesthetic options without requiring them to leave the Firefly environment. All these models are accessible through a single interface with no additional subscription required. Each creation comes with Content Credentials, essentially an “identity card” that ensures transparency about the origins of the generated assets.

Enhanced Creative Tools
Additionally, Adobe has introduced new tools to expand the creative capabilities within Firefly. Users can now refine the composition, style, and pacing of their AI-generated videos with several dedicated features:
- Composition Reference: This feature helps guide framing and layout by using a reference image. Users can import an existing visual to influence the composition of their video.
- Keyframe Cropping: This tool allows users to crop a video frame by frame. It is particularly useful for creators who need to adapt content to different formats, such as 9:16 for social media or 2.39:1 for a cinematic look. Cropping can be adjusted throughout the scenes based on narrative or aesthetic needs.
- Style Presets: This option provides a simple way to apply a consistent visual identity across a project. Users can select a preconfigured style, which will automatically be applied to multiple videos or scenes.
- Generate Sound Effects: This tool enables the creation of sound effects from a simple text prompt or voice command. For instance, a user might request the sound of a thunderstorm or breaking glass without the need to search through an audio library.
