At its MAX 2025 conference in Los Angeles, Adobe unveiled a new wave of artificial intelligence features. Firefly, the Creative Cloud, and Premiere mobile are enhanced with more powerful models, audio-video generation tools, and assistants that can automate parts of the creative process. The company is also bolstering its mobile creation presence through a strategic partnership with YouTube focusing on Shorts. Let’s dive in.
Firefly Introduces a New Image Model and Tools for Video and Audio
Adobe continues to promote its web platform Firefly as a comprehensive space for AI-assisted creation, introducing its new image model, Firefly Image Model 5. This model enhances the realism of visuals, textures, and movements, generates images in 4 million native pixels, and allows detailed modifications through text commands with the Prompt to Edit function. The tool also incorporates new third-party models, such as the popular Google Gemini nano banana.

Another significant focus is on video and audio. Several features are arriving in beta within Firefly:
- Generate Soundtrack: which allows for the instant composition of instrumental music tailored to the video’s rhythm.
- Generate Speech: for generating natural voiceovers, with adjustable emotion, rhythm, or accent.
- A new video editor based on a timeline: with clip import and sequencing, adding titles and effects, editing via text transcription, and more.
Firefly also introduces automation capabilities for large-scale productions. Firefly Creative Production notably allows for editing a large volume of images simultaneously (background replacement, cropping, color grading).
Additionally, the new Firefly Custom Models offer the opportunity to create customized generative models, aimed at producing consistent series of assets in a defined style. Firefly Boards, on the other hand, gains new options for visual ideation, such as object rotation to generate new perspectives or PDF export.
Adobe finally unveiled Project Moonlight, a conversational interface that activates a creative agent capable of providing recommendations, content generation, and task automation within applications.
AI Assistants Deployed Across the Creative Cloud
Adobe’s major applications are receiving new AI-assisted automation features. Photoshop now includes the Photoshop AI Assistant for the first time, which can execute a series of adjustments, suggest editing methods, or guide users through more complex operations directly within the interface. Express also features an integrated AI assistant, designed to quickly produce and adapt content for social media through a conversational interface.
Several new tools are accelerating creative operations:
- In Photoshop: Generative Upscale to enhance image definition and Harmonize to automatically integrate an element into a scene.
- In Premiere: AI Object Mask to isolate moving elements, new geometric masks, and improved object tracking velocity.
- In Lightroom: Assisted Culling to efficiently sort the best images from a large series.
Adobe announces that the entire Creative Cloud is benefiting from enhanced performance and over 100 functional advancements.
A Partnership with YouTube to Accelerate Shorts Production
Adobe and YouTube are jointly announcing a collaboration on a new creative space: Create for YouTube Shorts, integrated within the Premiere mobile app. This will enable creators to produce, edit, and directly publish vertical videos on YouTube Shorts.
Premiere mobile will feature:
- Effects, transitions, and templates designed for the Shorts format,
- One-click addition of creative titles and overlays, asset generation via Firefly, including AI-generated sound effects,
- Immediate export to YouTube Shorts.
Users will also be able to access Premiere mobile from YouTube by selecting « Edit in Adobe Premiere ». The goal is to make professional tools more accessible to creators on mobile platforms.
