At the heart of the presentation, three high-end iPhone models are expected to take center stage: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the brand’s inaugural foldable iPhone, tentatively named either “iPhone Ultra” or “iPhone Fold” in tech circles. The standard iPhone 18 will be missing from this lineup as Apple has now split its release schedule into two phases, reserving its more affordable models like the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 for a spring 2027 launch.
The usual suspects, the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4, will also be showcased, alongside the introduction of iOS 27 which was first previewed at WWDC26 in June. The public rollout of this new operating system is expected to follow shortly after the keynote.
Another near certainty, albeit a less welcome one for consumers, is a likely increase in prices due to the soaring costs of memory driven by demand from AI data centers. According to TrendForce, memory costs, which accounted for about 10% of the component costs of a 256GB iPhone Pro a year ago, have surged to nearly 34% in the third quarter of 2026. Apple is rumored to be developing a home hub that combines features of the iPad and HomePod with a 7-inch square display and full Siri integration. Mark Gurman, a leading Apple journalist, predicts its launch could occur between October 2027 and early 2027, although an earlier reveal in September is possible to give developers time to adapt their apps.
Three other devices are reportedly in the works, though their inclusion in the upcoming event is not guaranteed:
- A new Apple TV 4K with an upgraded processor, more memory, and a new network chip,
- An updated HomePod mini featuring a chip that supports Apple Intelligence and new color options,
- An OLED screen iPad mini, typically expected at a later autumn event.
The RC version of macOS 26.7 has revealed additional hints, with MacRumors spotting a reference to ATVRemote1,5, indicating a new Siri Remote. The current version is identified as ATVRemote1,4. The same code also mentions future AirPods 5 and AirPods Pro 4, though without any specific timeline.
What Not to Expect
Despite the buzz, don’t hold your breath for AirPods equipped with cameras. Following a leaked demo video in a macOS beta, the product is confirmed but its launch has been postponed to 2027 as Apple wishes to enhance its visual intelligence features. A September debut would be surprising.
