The coin was released for sale overnight on the US Mint website, available either in rolls of 25 coins (priced at $61) or in bags of 100 coins (priced at $154.50), with no “Proof” sets available and no option to order single coins! Coin collectors quickly snapped up the available stock, which sold out in about ten minutes, while listings on online marketplaces immediately started appearing at much higher prices.
It is unclear exactly how many coins were sold: initially, the US Mint had announced a limited production of 25,950 coins, but their website later showed a cap of 7,800 bags of 100 coins and 18,150 rolls of 25 coins. The website also states that there is no official limit on the minting of this coin, and it even offers the option to create an alert for notification of any new stock availability.
