Early Android enthusiasts are in for a treat with this latest announcement. Reviving its beloved Androidify platform with an AI boost, Google has now officially rolled out a Wear OS version of the app.
Androidify might ring a bell if you’re familiar with Google’s applications. Introduced back in 2011, it allowed users to design their own Android mascot by customizing features like skin color, clothing, hair, and accessories. Google later removed it from the Play Store in 2020, but last September, Androidify made a celebrated comeback.
However, that’s not the only news we want to share today: our colleagues at Android Authority had noticed that a Wear OS version of the iconic app was in the works. That time has now passed: Google has officially launched Androidify for Wear OS, enabling the creation of personalized watch faces.

Androidify on Wear OS arrives: customize your watch faces with your own Android mascot
Before we delve deeper, let’s remember that Google’s mascot was long known as Bugdroid before being renamed “The Bot” at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. It’s this personal version of The Bot, formerly Bugdroid, that you can create with Androidify.
But the monumental return of this iconic application is more than just a simple re-release. It marks a true revival that now leverages, you guessed it, artificial intelligence. Androidify now takes customization to the next level by utilizing the power of Google’s AI models, Gemini 2.5 Flash, and Imagen.
The app allows users to export their creations as images, stickers, short videos, and, with its latest update, it now supports Wear OS. This update lets those quirky but customized little green bots invade the screen of your connected Android watch. If you’re so inclined, you could, for instance, create one for different occasions: one avatar for work, another dressed up for a special event…
This innovation is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to offer more personalized services. And it seems that for the tech giant, the key to achieving this is AI, as evidenced by its bold experiments on YouTube and potentially on Discover as well.
