Test de la Loewe We. Hear Pro : l’enceinte nomade élégante et puissante

Loewe has entered the premium segment of portable speakers with the We. Hear Pro, a model that captivates with its excellent finish, impressive sound reproduction, and versatility. It boasts enhanced durability, promising battery life, generous power, and technical mastery. Let’s see if it lives up to the promise.

In 2025, the market for portable Bluetooth speakers is more competitive than ever, led by established models like the JBL Xtreme 4, Marshall Middleton II, Sony ULT Field 3, and Ultimate Ears’ Megaboom 4, each competing in terms of power, endurance, and portability. In this highly contested environment, the Loewe We. Hear Pro stands out with strong features: a 100 W power output, a robust design (IPX6), up to 24 hours of battery life, and genuine multipoint and True Wireless options for group use.

The We. Hear Pro, stylish and finely crafted, and in collaboration with Kylian Mbappé, targets both demanding audiophiles seeking balanced and expansive sound, and versatile users looking to enliven large areas and outdoor events.

Design, German Elegance, and Uncompromising Robustness

The We. Hear Pro is appealing with its dense textile shell, available in several modern colors (denim, black, or yellow), paired with a strap, blending practicality with sophistication.

In terms of pure design, the speaker exudes robustness without sacrificing elegance, featuring slightly rounded sides and distinct branding (Kylian Mbappé’s KM signature).

The whole package inspires confidence, boasting an IPX6 certification that ensures it’s fit for both home use and outdoor immersion in places like beaches or gardens, though it cannot be submerged.

On the practical side, the adjustable strap and balanced design make the We. Hear Pro easy to carry or hang. The control buttons are subtly recessed on the top, including one for power, one for Bluetooth pairing or connecting to another speaker, and two for adjusting bass and treble. They are firm, well-spaced, and intuitively placed.

For volume adjustments, there is a touch-sensitive slider that lights up when touched; sliding is required to change the volume level.

Underneath, there are non-slip pads ensuring stable placement. Connectivity options include standard Bluetooth and a mini-jack input, while a USB-C port serves for charging the speaker or a mobile device.

The dimensions are practical for portability: 28 cm wide, 13.8 cm tall, and 13.5 cm deep, weighing 2.2 kg.

Sound Architecture and Daily Use

The speaker is built around a two-way system supported by two passive radiators on either side, similar to some JBL models. It features two tweeters and two full-range drivers, offering both ample and controlled bass and a clear stereo spatialization, which is quite rare for this format, powered by a class D amplifier. It is optimized for horizontal placement.

Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint allows seamless switching between devices. Note that up to 14 speakers can be wirelessly connected for a broader sound setup. The USB-C port also enables the We. Hear Pro to function as a power bank.

An interesting feature is the hands-free kit. According to our tests, the microphone provides coherent capture for everyday calls and group speaking with minimal latency. Just be sure to have the speaker in front of you for clearer sound.

Unlike most Bluetooth portable speakers, this one does not come with a companion app. Sound adjustments can only be made using the Bass and Treble buttons on the top of the device. Once the desired button is pressed for 2 seconds, the level can be adjusted by the slider. However, the slider’s light is quite dim and not easily visible outdoors.

Audio Quality

The sound reproduction of the We. Hear Pro is quite impressive. The bass is firm and deep, broad without ever muddling the midrange. The highs, well-supported by the tweeters, remain clear but not metallic, even at high volumes. The speaker can liven up any type of room or patio, maintaining a remarkable performance at high volume without premature compression or noticeable distortion.

In genres like pop or electro, the bass is prominent without overwhelming the overall sound, while vocals and percussion remain distinct and well-placed. For more acoustic tracks, the natural balance prevails: reverberations, brass, or orchestral arrangements maintain depth and a broad stage for a portable speaker. Extended listening reveals a solid homogeneity at all levels, and the ability to adjust treble/bass through the app will please the most meticulous listeners.

Specifically, the Loewe We. Hear Pro adapts well to a broad range of musical styles. When listening to “Levitating” by Dua Lipa, the stereo stage is immediately noticeable, with the voice remaining precise and upfront, and the synthetic bass maintaining depth without encroaching on the mids. On “Hotel California” by the Eagles, the acoustic guitars have a nice expansiveness. Each string is distinct, and the live ambiance of the track benefits from broad spatialization, thanks to the combined work of the two mid/bass drivers and tweeters supported by the passive radiators. With “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, the control in the bass is striking – they hit hard but remain controlled, even at high volume, and the rhythm stays perfectly clear, without distortion.

In the realm of jazz, “So What” by Miles Davis showcases the natural sound of brass: each instrument appears well-placed in space, the round double bass supports the ensemble, and the dynamics are preserved during crescendos. Even with varied playlists (rock, electro, hip-hop), the We. Hear Pro consistently delivers a precise output: no muffled voices, no saturation when the volume is cranked up, and enough detail for attentive listening in any setting.

Mobility and Battery Life

The promise of endurance is well-kept: the We. Hear Pro easily exceeds a day of listening in mixed use, up to 22–24 hours depending on the volume and whether the powerbank function or multi-speaker mode is used. Fast USB-C charging allows for about 8 hours of music after just 30 minutes of charging. The LED gauge provides a fairly accurate estimate of the battery level, and the automatic standby mode helps save power when needed.

Competition

It is slightly more expensive than the LG Xboom Bounce, which is not as powerful (although sufficient) but offers longer battery life. Compared to the Loewe We. Hear Pro, the JBL Xtreme 4 remains a staple, especially for outdoor party enthusiasts due to its very present bass and superior brute power, but the Loewe stands out with a wider and more natural stereo rendering that provides a more balanced experience at moderate volumes.
On the other hand, the Marshall Emberton III opts for a compact size and a vintage design while remaining highly portable. However, it cannot compete with the power reserve or the breadth of the sound stage offered by the We. Hear Pro, making it more suitable for home use or close quarters.

The Sony ULT Field 3 combines robustness and excellent battery life in a versatile format, but its sound output, while decent, lacks depth and openness compared to the We. Hear Pro, which proves more versatile for all genres. From Ultimate Ears, the Megaboom 4 appeals with its true 360-degree diffusion, practical for groups, but the Loewe provides better stereo separation and more controlled bass, even when the total power remains comparable.
