How to Enable Perplexity on WhatsApp
Similar to Meta AI and ChatGPT, Perplexity has recently made its way onto WhatsApp. It is now easy to integrate this AI tool into the messaging app, allowing you to communicate with it and access a variety of information. To activate it, Perplexity enables you to simply scan a QR code with your smartphone, and if you prefer, directly through WhatsApp. Once done, you will be directed to a chat with the chatbot within the app.
Note that Perplexity also offers its AI on Telegram and X. On Telegram, the functionality is similar to that on WhatsApp, enabling you to chat directly with the AI within a conversation thread. For the micro-blogging platform, simply summon Perplexity by adding “@AskPerplexity” to your question in a post.
What Features Does Perplexity Offer on WhatsApp?
During your initial interactions with Perplexity on WhatsApp, the “AI assistant”, as it introduces itself, will showcase its main capabilities:
- “Ask any question and receive quick, accurate answers”
- “Generate and edit images directly in the chat”
- “Send a voice note and receive an AI-generated voice response”
First and foremost, you might need to specify to Perplexity the language in which you wish to communicate. “From now on, speak to me only in French”: a command that is followed to the letter, without daily reminders.
Then, you can ask Perplexity any type of question, and it will base its answers on up-to-date web searches. As mentioned, you can pose your questions orally via a voice message and receive a spoken response. Additionally, it is possible to request the transcription of a voice note, for example.
Perplexity on WhatsApp can generate images, just as ChatGPT does. You simply need to request it. Lastly, the tool can automatically generate a daily news summary, which it will send you at the start of each day.
