Apple maintains its status as the world’s most powerful brand, according to Interbrand, a consultancy specializing in brand strategy and design. As in 2024, the Cupertino-based company tops the Best Global Brands ranking, which is determined using various criteria including profitability, presence in emerging markets, and brand recognition. This annual ranking is complemented by an analysis of major trends shaping the market.
Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google Further Their Lead
Valued at $470.9 billion by Interbrand, Apple leads a list that is predominantly occupied by tech giants. Just like last year, the company outranks Microsoft, which saw its value increase by 10%, and Amazon, which grew by 7%. Google, valued at $317.1 billion, extends its lead over Samsung, which is fifth with $90.5 billion. Another significant movement? Instagram, with a 27% increase, breaks into the top 10.
Here are the world’s most powerful brands according to Interbrand:

Further down the list, several brands register strong increases: YouTube climbs by 61% to the 13th spot, Facebook rises by 18% to 19th place, and MasterCard grows by 14% to reach the 36th position. The most spectacular rise, however, is attributed to NVIDIA, which soared by 116% in one year to reach the 15th place.
A Shifting Landscape, Driven by the Rapid Rise of Artificial Intelligence
With recent technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence, brands are encountering new competitive challenges and a “new reality,” according to Interbrand at the beginning of its annual report. The American company particularly notes the emergence of agents that are disrupting customer service or forcing brands to create content for both robots and humans. It also warns of increasingly difficult brand messaging control as everyday tasks are delegated to tools like ChatGPT.
The extent to which our technological fantasies become reality will vary, but one thing is certain: AI will fundamentally transform how we interact with the world around us and with the brands that exist within it, warns Interbrand.
The context is unstable, constantly evolving, and demanding, observes Interbrand. However, it clearly does not prevent some brands from thriving. “The opportunities for brands that manage well are extraordinary,” the brand strategy and design consultancy firm reminds us. Its annual ranking is proof of this: it welcomes twelve new entries—including Shopify, Booking.com, and Qualcomm—which represents “the most significant change since its inception in 2000.” It also records the highest brand valuation ever observed, that of NVIDIA. Finally, with the exception of Apple, all tech giants involved in the AI race show considerable progress in 2025.
