If you’re a frequent traveler, Sosh has launched a new plan that might catch your attention. For a monthly fee of €15.99 with no contract, the 200Go 5G Travel Plan not only offers 200GB of 5G data in France using Orange’s network and unlimited calls and SMS/MMS—which is pretty standard—but it also stands out for its international roaming capabilities: the budget-friendly arm of Orange includes a monthly allocation of 40GB that can be used in no less than 130 destinations worldwide, a first for Sosh.
The 130 destinations unsurprisingly include all the countries in the European Union, as roaming within the continent is now a given. Sosh also covers the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Andorra, as well as the French overseas departments (DOM), which is fairly standard. What sets this plan apart is the inclusion of 73 additional destinations across the globe and on every continent, which is quite exceptional. Here’s the list provided by the operator:
South Africa, Alaska, Albania, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Central African Republic, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Ivory Coast, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, United States, Gabon, Georgia, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Hawaii, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Laos, Macau, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Russia, El Salvador, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, Taiwan, Tasmania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vietnam.
Be careful not to exceed the 40GB limit. Beyond this, Sosh charges €13.31 per megabyte (billed per Kb used), a rate that’s extremely high and a reminder that roaming can still be complex worldwide. However, frequent travelers will likely appreciate the initial 40GB, even though it might not necessarily be 5G as Sosh does not guarantee this. It’s also important to note that only data is included abroad, with unlimited calls and SMS restricted to France and Europe.
At €15.99 per month, this plan is competitively priced compared to Free Mobile’s offering, which includes more data in France (350GB of 5G) but covers fewer countries (115 destinations) with less data abroad (35GB per month), all for a higher price of €19.99 per month. However, it’s still more appealing for Freebox subscribers, since the price is reduced (€10 or €16 per month depending on the case) and the data in France is unlimited.
Comparing the destination lists, notable inclusions on Sosh’s list are Japan, Taiwan, and many African countries (Morocco, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mali, Gabon…) that are missing from Free Mobile, which uniquely includes Egypt among its destinations.
