Great news for those looking to switch their mobile plan: Free has updated its Série Free package. Now including the eSIM Watch option at no extra cost, the operator has also boosted the data allowance by 20 GB while keeping the price the same: under 9 euros per month.
Free continues to pleasantly surprise both existing and new subscribers. The company is actively running several campaigns aimed at retaining current customers and attracting new ones. Along with regularly offering a free trial month to select iconic channels or streaming services from its lineup, Free also provides automatic discounts to certain subscribers.
However, the company hasn’t forgotten about potential new customers: it has enhanced its temporary plan, the Série Free, by adding an extra 20 GB of data without increasing the price by even a cent—unlike Orange, which raised the price of a very popular plan in exchange for more data (though there was a workaround).

The Série Free plan remains priced at 8.99 euros per month, but now offers 140 GB of data instead of 120 GB. For Europe and the French overseas departments (DOM), the data allowance has increased from 25 to 30 GB. Univers Freebox points out that this deal is exclusive to new customers who sign up for the Série Free plan from today. For comparison:
- RED by SFR has a 5G plan offering 120 GB for 7.99 euros per month with 30 GB usable within the European Union (EU) and DOM.
- Bouygues Telecom features a B&YOU 5G plan with 130 GB, including 35 GB usable in Europe, priced at 8.99 euros per month.
- And Sosh, a subsidiary of Orange, offers a plan for 9.99 euros per month that includes 150 GB with 40 GB of data available in Europe, but only on 4G networks.
The various operators thus have rather comparable offers in terms of value for money. It’s also a good time to mention that there is a simple trick that can lead to significant savings.
Returning to Free, it’s worth noting that the Série Free plan is temporary: it is only valid for one year, after which it automatically switches to the Free 5G Plan at 19.99 euros per month (for 350 GB including 35 GB abroad). Beyond the data, the Série Free plan includes Free mVPN, the eSIM Watch option (with no activation fees), the Free TV app with over 300 channels, as well as unlimited calls, SMS, and MMS to mainland France and the DOM (except Mayotte), and these are also unlimited from Europe and the DOM.
