If you found the alarm groups in One UI 7 useful, you’ll be pleased to know they’ve been enhanced to be even more user-friendly and intuitive in One UI 8, the upcoming major update for Samsung smartphones.
For those who frequently set multiple alarms, you’ll likely be eager to upgrade to One UI 8 on your Samsung smartphone. This update significantly improves the management of alarms with several ergonomic enhancements.
In One UI 7, the introduction of alarm groups allowed users to organize multiple alarms within a single set, which could be toggled on or off easily. However, this feature had its limitations. For instance, using the + button within an alarm group would automatically create a new alarm within that group by default, without offering the option to add an existing alarm to the group. One UI 8 addresses this issue, as noted in the patch notes shared by Samsung: “You can now add existing alarms to an alarm group by pressing the + button on the group screen”.

“You can also add an alarm group to a widget on your home screen to enable or disable all the alarms in the group with a single tap”, the manufacturer adds. This new feature allows for quicker management of alarm groups directly from the home screen, without needing to open the Clock app. Previously, it was only possible to place a single alarm as a widget, even if it was part of an alarm group. The screenshot below from Android Authority provides a glimpse of this widget.
Built on Android 16, One UI 8 has been available in beta for the Galaxy S25 for a few hours. This update brings a variety of small new features and optimizations, following One UI 7 which completely revamped the software experience on Samsung smartphones. Among other notable new features, the ability to filter files by application in the My Files manager is particularly useful, saving time when searching for a file whose name or folder location has been forgotten.
