The Realme GT 8 Pro is the upcoming flagship smartphone from Realme. Not only is it powered by a high-performance platform, but it also showcases a design that is both innovative and visually striking. Let’s explore together its features, especially the unique silicone coating on its back.

Realme is on a roll. In the past year, the Chinese brand has launched several ambitious projects, particularly in the premium segment with the Realme GT 7 Pro, Realme GT 7, and Realme GT 7T. We’ve had the chance to review these three models and found them quite impressive, despite some minor flaws. These devices will soon be succeeded by the Realme GT 8 Pro, which has been teased for over a month.

Indeed, Realme was the first to announce the upcoming launch of the Realme GT 8 Pro, its newest flagship equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Since that announcement, Realme has released several teasers highlighting key features of the phone, including its display, configuration, and even its collaboration with Ricoh in photography. And there’s more to come.

Unveiling the Design of the Realme GT 8 Pro: A Closer Look

Today, Realme officially unveils the design of the GT 8 Pro. The design includes several unique features. As the smartphone has already arrived at our office, we are excited to showcase these features in photos.

Many of these innovative details can be found on the back of the device. It begins with the phone’s coating, which is made of organosilicone leather. This material has a distinctive feel that is a velvety blend of leather and paper. It is soft to the touch, and its slight imperfections create unique patterns. This material has several benefits: it does not retain fingerprints, is non-slip, and is water-resistant.

The second distinctive feature is the camera module, which houses the lenses (to be discussed further in a future article), and also includes two “torx” screws. By removing these screws, you can replace the frame of the camera module with another one. The default frame installed on the Realme GT 8 Pro is circular, but the brand also offers another rectangular one, along with a matching case. The disassembly process is straightforward, and the concept is quite fun. Realme also provides DIY enthusiasts with a file containing the dimensions of the module to create and print a customized 3D case.

The rest of the phone’s design is relatively standard. It has straight edges and rounded corners. The frame is made of aluminum, with visible antenna bands. There are two speakers, along with the usual technical elements. The front is protected by mineral glass (pre-installed with a protective layer), and features an attractively centered punch-hole for the selfie camera.

So there you have it, a first look at the Realme GT 8 Pro. In the coming days, we will reveal more about this highly anticipated smartphone, which is set to launch by the end of 2025 and will be the first to benefit from the partnership with Ricoh.
