iPhone 17 Could Feature Enhanced MagSafe Magnets: Revolutionary Upgrade Alert!

The upcoming iPhone 17 is poised to address a major criticism faced by its predecessor, the iPhone 16. According to a report from The Information, the new model, slated for release in early 2026, “will feature a glass back that supports magnetic wireless charging.” While the iPhone 16 does support Qi standard wireless charging, it lacks the magnets necessary for proper alignment of the charger with the coil. This limitation restricts its charging power to 7.5W compared to 22W for the standard iPhone 16, and also affects the charger’s stability during jolts. Therefore, the wireless charging capability of the iPhone 17 could be significantly faster and more reliable.

The iPhone 17 is expected to debut roughly a year after the iPhone 16, which hit the market in February 2025. The launch of the new model is thus imminent. While the design of this entry-level model is unlikely to undergo major changes, its display may see slightly slimmer bezels. Internally, the transition from the A18 chip to the A19 chip and from the C1 modem to the C1X modem should enhance performance and extend battery life.
