New Developments Hint at Fall Release for iPad Pro M5
According to a report by ZDNet Korea, sourced from DigiTimes, there’s a sign that the iPad Pro M5 could be released this autumn. Sources indicate that LG and Samsung have already begun production of 11 and 13-inch OLED screens for the upcoming device. These displays are said to differ from those in current models, potentially improving aspects like brightness and energy efficiency. However, no major design changes are expected for the tablet, which underwent significant redesigns last year.
What to Expect from the Next iPad Pro M5
The forthcoming iPad Pro M5 is anticipated to be a routine update rather than a groundbreaking release. It’s expected to feature a newer, more powerful M5 chip, although specific details about the chip’s capabilities remain undisclosed. It is known, however, that the M5 chip will continue to be manufactured by TSMC at a 3nm process, but with improved energy efficiency.
Additional minor upgrades could include support for Wi-Fi 7 technology. As for the cellular models, they are likely to retain a Qualcomm-designed modem. A significant change is projected for the iPad Pro M6 in 2026, when Apple plans to switch to its own Apple C2 modem, which could lead to substantial energy savings.
