Apple has rolled out the stable releases of iOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2 tonight, along with HomePod firmware 27.2. Since Apple reserved iOS 27.1 specifically for the iPhone Duo, most other platforms skip from 27.0 directly to 27.2 to keep the versioning consistent. These updates introduce a variety of new features, bug fixes and security patches. Several older operating systems also receive maintenance updates in this wave, including macOS Sequoia 15.8.2 and macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, plus iOS 18.7.11, iPadOS 18.7.11 and iPadOS 26.7.2.

The headline change across these releases is the expansion of Siri AI language support: French joins Korean, Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese. However, due to Digital Markets Act (DMA) restrictions within the EU, Siri AI remains limited there — it’s only available on Mac and the Apple Vision Pro inside EU territories. iPhones and iPads in the EU still won’t have it, and devices such as Apple Watch, Apple TV and the HomePod mini 2 rely on a paired iOS or iPadOS device to access Siri AI remotely.
Several smaller features that appeared during the beta cycle also make it into these builds. Examples include profile support in the Apple TV app on iOS, English-language Siri AI on the two previous generations of Apple TV, a refreshed Apple Music logo, a redesigned brightness and sound control interface on macOS 27.2, and a number of UI tweaks that prepare macOS for touchscreen Macs (Apple plans an announcement on October 28). The updates add support for Apple’s recently revealed smart home devices (Apple TV 4K A19, HomePod mini 2, HomeView) and the Apple Home Collection, introduce a Sound Illumination feature, and disable touch controls on some older HomePod models. The Apple Watch regains an app selector, and the iPhone Duo receives Apple Pencil and Edge Light support. Apple also tested a redesigned Health app in the iOS 27.2 betas, but its public launch will come later.
iOS 27.2 — Release notes
Siri AI (all iPhone 16 models and later, plus iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max)
• Siri AI is a more capable and interactive incarnation of Siri, now available in additional languages including French, Korean, Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese. Siri AI is not offered in the EU or mainland China.
• New capabilities — such as understanding personal context, performing actions inside apps, recognizing on‑screen content and accessing web information — help Siri AI deliver more useful, device‑aware assistance.
• A dedicated Siri app lets you view existing conversations or start new ones, and syncs those conversations across your Apple devices via iCloud while maintaining privacy protections.
• The Camera app’s Siri mode brings visual intelligence into the camera experience so you can ask questions about what’s in view and trigger helpful actions, for example sharing a restaurant note or checking nutritional details for a dish.
• “Write with Siri” enables you to generate drafts from scratch, revise existing text or get suggestions in most text fields. In Messages and Mail, Siri AI adapts its tone and punctuation to the way you tend to write to each person, based on prior exchanges.
Other additions
• The Smart Reply feature in Mail and Messages offers suggested quick responses to save time.
• Shared Albums in Photos now allow editing of captions and comments, prevent duplicate photo additions and display a reminder before an album expires so contributors can save important photos and videos.
• Photos and Image Playground now recognize the SynthID watermark to help identify images that were generated or altered with generative tools.
• The Podcasts Home tab separates new episodes from items you were listening to, making it easier to find recent releases and resume playback.
• The Friends tab in the Games app provides context around friend suggestions and shows the recent games played by people on their profile pages.
• Apple TV app profiles allow each household member to have their own profile and get personalized recommendations.
• FaceTime supports adding third‑party sign language interpreters or live captions during calls.
macOS 27.2 — Release notes
This update brings improvements to Siri AI so it can retain useful context from prior interactions and draw on a broader range of personal information. It also adds suggestion capabilities inside Messages that help you take quick actions in apps like Calendar and Reminders based on the conversation’s context. The release includes additional features, bug fixes and security updates for Mac.
watchOS 27.2 — Release notes
This version enhances Siri AI on Apple Watch, allowing it to maintain relevant context from earlier interactions, use a wider array of personal data, and deliver faster responses on the wrist. The update also contains other features, bug fixes and security improvements for Apple Watch.
• Siri AI can remember prior conversations, letting you ask follow‑up questions about things it previously told you, such as restaurants it recommended last week.
• Siri AI draws from more sources to produce useful answers, including photos attached to Messages, participants in your Calendar events, your voicemails, and more relevant results from Safari history and your iPhone reading list.
• The “Excluded Apps” setting lets you select which apps Siri, Search and Suggestions may access, managed from a single setting on your iPhone.
• Siri AI now responds more quickly on Apple Watch.
• Siri AI is available in additional languages — French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish — but is not available in the European Union or in mainland China.
tvOS 27.2 — Release notes
This update delivers new ways to connect via FaceTime, greater control over screensaver personalization, and the ability to locate your Siri Remote using the Find My app, alongside bug fixes and security updates for Apple TV 4K.
FaceTime
• FaceTime links make it easier to join calls directly from Apple TV.
• Support for sign language interpreters and captions enables integration of third‑party services during calls.
Screensavers
• Photo personalization lets you use your iPhone to pick specific images for your screensaver without sharing your entire photo library with Apple TV.
• A shuffle option cycles through different categories of screensavers so varied content appears on your TV.
Find My
• Integration with the Find My app helps you locate your Siri Remote (2nd generation or newer) using your iPhone.
